Born and raised in Australia, living in Scotland since 1993. Married with 6 children. Cookies and muffins seem to disappear within minutes of baking, but I enjoy seeing the happy looks on their faces. :) Muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and anything that is sweet. I'm particularly fond of recipes which utilise spices such as ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon or mace. My mother is German so I grew up eating a lot of traditional continental food. She's an amazing cook. Her roast dinners and cheesecakes are to die for! I'm trying hard to follow in her footsteps. Learning not to overmix muffin batters has resulted in much lighter, better tasting muffins. Using the wrong sized cake tin and ending up with a sponge cake that was very tough on the edges and runny in the middle! :o I threw out the uncooked bits and used the edible bits as the base of a trifle. (I hate to waste food.)
