I joined this site because my friend was constantly on here looking for recipes and reviews. After she emailed me about a thousand of them I finally started using the site myself. What a joy it has been.
I am now thirty and single and enjoying a life of adventure in South America. (primarily Argentina) I believe I'm well on my way to being an expert in Argentine cuisine so when I come home I'll be able to cook some delicious dishes for my friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
Barbecue. Smoked. Hands down.
Any piece of meat taste great after being smoked for hours and hours at a low temperature in a good smoker.
I also like to make pasta sauces from scratch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from the south so we pretty much stick with comfort food at all the get together's.
My cooking triumphs
There have been a couple, but the most pleased I've been with myself is making a torte. I'm not much of a pastry chef so it was great to make a sophisticated chocolate mocha torte with a sprinkling of almond for my sister's birthday.
My cooking tragedies
I seem to burn toast no matter what and it frustrates the heck out of me. It's not so bad if I do it once. That I can live with. But when I do it twice or THREE times in a row I just can't handle it.
