I got my love for cooking from my dad, and with that an affinity for experimenting with things. I'll get an idea in my head to try making something, and just do it. I love to make up my own marinades, soups, even barbecue sauces. My wife and kids hate that I don't measure or write anything down, so every new "recipe" is a one time shot. It keeps it fun for me though. Anything on the grill! Especially if it's not something you usually think of cooking on the grill. One of these days I'm gonna cook a meatloaf on the grill! My annual post-Thanksgiving turkey noodle soup. My turkey noodle soup, and my vegetable soup. (They did get me to measure and write down my vegetable soup once, so it can be reproduced. Tasted great, but it took all the fun out of it for me.) Anything involving making my own dough/pastry. I hate it because I love making things from scratch.
