About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE baking and cooking in the oven in the winter. So, anything involving the oven gets my attention.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When the whole big clan gets together for Christmas, we gave up on a sitdown dinner and now each of us makes a few heavy appetizers. it's become quite competitive and we always try to outdo each other.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that makes my children say, wow, this is actually good!
My cooking tragedies
As a child I made peanut butter cookies "all by myself." When the first batch came out of the oven, they had all spread into each other and formed one very thin cookie pan shaped cookie. After adding more flour, chilling the dough, etc. I realized I had forgotten to add the peanut butter : / My family got a big laugh out of my peanut butterless peanut butter cookies.

No Bake Cookies III
Sorry! I followed the recipe and mine were dry and kind of crumbly : ) I was really looking for a new recipe that makes the kind of no-bakes that spread out some on the wax paper and not stayed in a ball or lump. I'll keep looking! Thanks anyway!

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake
These were really good, kind of reminded me of a chili-cheese-fry casserole : ) Per other reviewers I left out the butter and just tossed the potatoes in a little olive oil. I used four medium potatoes, 2 tsps chili powder, 1 tsp salt and a few shakes of pepper. I didn't measure the cheese or ranch dressing, just kind of eye-balled it. These were fabulous. The cheese does make them kind of greasy, but they never said this was a diet recipe : )Good stuff, nice change of pace and easy to make. Thanks for the recipe!
