Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
The combined flavors of this dish are delectable! I use Hillshire Farms pork smoked sausage and red beans instead of kidney beans. I also add about a qtr tsp each of cumin, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, oregano, blk pepper, and approx a 1/2 tsp of chili powder. I prefer red bell pepper instead of green and the diced tomatoes I use have green chiles in it which I think really enhances the flavor. I've also chopped up and added some jarred jalapenos for an added kick...not too much though, maybe about a tblspn worth. Excellent dish that I'll continue to make and serve many times over!

Carrie's Artichoke and Sun-dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
AWESOME! I have made this recipe over and over again and served it to friends as well. It's a big hit with everyone. The combined flavors make this dish to drool for and the colors make for a great presentation. I serve mine with chicken that I sautee in a pan with olive oil and a pat of butter, with a pinch of Thyme. I have yet to make it with dry white wine but sweet instead and I think it really brings out the flavors of all the other ingredients. Also, I use angel hair pasta instead which I find much lighter on the stomach than a heavier noodle...not to mention tasty. TRY IT! You won't be sorry. ENJOY!!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
Fantastic dish! The pork chops were very juicy and tender. I followed the recipe exactly, but would make some changes the next time. I thought the dish was too salty for my taste, so the next time I would omit the extra salt and only use one or two at the most of the beef bouillon cubes.

Beer and Brown Sugar Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
This marinade is most definitely pleasing to the palate! Not only does it taste great, if really tenderizes the meat...and quickly, and smells wonderful while it's cooking. I've tried it on steaks cooked on the grill, and on a rump roast baked in the oven. The sweet aroma of the teriyaki sauce filled my home and stirred my appetite. Try it, you'll love it! Btw, I used Guinness as my dark beer and a highly recommend it.
