About this Cook
I'm 53 with white long balding hair, a white beard, over weight and just as pretty as I can be, unless you ask my wife. She says for all the white hair, I act 15, life is good.
My favorite things to cook
Steaks, Babyback Ribs, Cheese Enchilada Casserol, Breakfast anytime of the day,Pork Tenderloin, Venison Backstrap, and of course,,,Chili. Oh yeah, and home made pizza and nacho's and after all these years a good Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich and a cold glass of milk can still be the best thing to eat in the world. I hope I never get too old to enjoy the simple things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mother taught me how to make Deviled eggs and people beg,,I said 'Beg' me to make them every week. The place where I work smells really bad when I do.
My cooking triumphs
My BabyBack ribs will melt in your mouth and of course I did get 1st Place in the last Chili Cook-Off I entered. Dagwood is my Hero and I make a great double decker PB&J.
My cooking tragedies
Not so much a tragedy as a dissapointment. When I was 14 or 15 I had Beef Wellington for the first time in my life. That was the day I fell in "LOVE" with food. I've probably cooked it 20 different ways, and while they were "good" they weren't the taste that has been in my memory for for almost 40 years. I'm looking for the the taste, that when you put it in your mouth, the world dissapears.

Deerburger Meatloaf
As a man who has "plenty" of ground venison in his freezer and loves a good meatloaf, let me say, this was a godsend. I'm from Texas and like things a little warm so I added a couple diced jalopeno's, umm umm good. Thanks.

Sunday's Apple Pie
I cut up the amount of apples you had in the recipe and had enough for 2 1/2 pies. I put the extra [with all the seasonings] into a sauce pan, added a litle water and cooked until soft. About 30 seconds in the blender and had the best cinnamon apple sauce ever. Great recipe.

Texas Deer Chili
After doing Chili Cook-Off's in Texas for years, I was offended by the addition of beans, and then adding Texas to the name.
