Just Wondering I guess?
About this Cook
I'm at Ft. Stewart with my Military daughter who gave birth to my 3rd grandchild in Sept. She is deploying around April so I'll be going back to Ohio until she's done with her tour. I'll be raising little one until then so I'm working on "healthy foods for him too". I'd like to start with pure foods such as bananas and fruits in a juicer instead of canned foods or even glass jar stuff. I'm trying to cook healthier for me and my family. It's alot to learn all at once but I do spend the time reading. I have to say, I am excited to finally learn about different remedies and all the healthy things you can use instead of medicines. Anyway, that's where I am now. Just learning all over again to try and make a difference. I don't trust the meats and foods that are out there now. I'd rather make my own and know it's good for me and my family.
My favorite things to cook
Eggs, potatoes, pancakes, french toast (breakfast is my favorite). Casseroles, Salmon is my favorite and rice dishes. I pretty much try to stay away from the red meats. Chicken, Fish and very little hamburg. I do, however love a good round Roast in the Crock Pot!!! I used to make one every Sunday. Now, I delegate it further out but love it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chicken and all the different ways to make it.
My cooking triumphs
Salmon! I've given the recipe out numerous times and it's never like mine so I rave about it! lol
My cooking tragedies
The dish I made tonight. I was so excited too! :0( the other one is Steak. I just can't seem to get it right. Then again, I don't know how to grill cook so there's my problem I'm sure! lol I get the concept, I just don't have one and feel that I'd bomb out doing it so I'm a little intimidated over it. I do feel that I'd be good at it though...

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese
I used a smaller casserole dish (8X9). I also used 1/4 cup parmesan WITH 1/2 cup bread crumbs to sprinkle them on top! I loved it and will make it again. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

One-Dish Chicken and Stuffing Bake
This has got to be THE most simple dish I've tried so far. All the variations come to mind when I think on making it again. Corn, Green Beans or potatoes seem like good additions. It was so simple and quick. I'll use this again soon!

Mom's Mozzarella Chicken for Drew
I breaded mine in the oven and used regular sauce and spruced it up with brown sugar and minced garlic. I also served it with Texas Toast sprinkled with Mozz. Cheese. It is wonderful and so simple. My noodles were vermicelli and I thought they were too thin for the dish so next time, I'll be sure to use thicker noodles but IT WAS A WONDERFUL MEAL! This one's a keeper for sure! Thanks for the recipe here.
