About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to use the slow cooker. And there's really no way to mess up a chicken recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved being in the kitchen with my grandmothers. One always made chocolate gravy and the other could make a casserole out of anything. It was always perfect and they made it special.
My cooking triumphs
My very first Thanksgiving dinner for my husband. We've never had a better meal. It will probably never be reproduced but it was a great triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
Lots of recipes that looked good on paper but just didn't work out in the realy world.

My Best Clam Chowder
Excellent doesn't come close to describe this! We absolutely loved it! Just for my own tastes this time, I did add bacon (actually bacon bits) while sauteing the veggies and some chopped portobello mushrooms b/c I needed to use them. But this recipe by itself is great! Kudos to the cook! Love it!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
We don't really like fish unless it's salmon but I thought I would try this recipe. My family loved it, even the very picky 5 & 6 year olds! I followed the recipe and only added a bit of Old Bay seasoning to the fish before I began broiling both sides (this was b/c I also made the Old Bay Potato & Green Bean Salad recipe found on this site and the spices were just there). Besides the salad I made some garlic rolls and dinner was ready. Kudos to a great simple recipe! We will definitely be keeping this one. So yummy!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
This was great. I had to use Louisiana Hot Sauce b/c we didn't have Frank's but other than the recipe was followed exactly as written. My kids were begging for a snack and I happened to have the ingredients...a good use for the canned chicken that never found a recipe until now. They devoured it with celery sticks and vegetable crackers. Will definitely make again for a party! I like the idea of adding blue cheese crumbles and fresh chicken. We will have to try that. Thanks for sharing the recipe, great as is.
