I'm originally from Indiana, living in Cambridge, MA for the moment. I bake all the time and enjoy sharing my creations with anyone and everyone! I've made a name for myself at work as "the girl who bakes." Neat way to make friends :-) Cooking with my dad--we argue constantly, but it makes our dishes turn out perfectly every time! And learning all of my grandmother's trademark recipes whenever I get a chance to come home. Baking must run in our family! I'm hoping to carry on her traditions for my own children. Making my first layer cake. It turned out perfectly! It was for a friend's birthday, from scratch, complete with pink frosting. She was thrilled :-) One sugar cookie recipe called for the cookie balls to be rolled in sugar before baking. I noticed a container of what I thought was coarse-grain sugar in our pantry and rolled the cookies in it. One bite of the cooled cookies and I realized it was SALT. Obviously, not my best work!
