Dijon-Herb Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Absolutely superb! My family devoured this. I had never heard of red currant jelly and had to go to two stores to find it. I am sure glad I did. This sauce was to die for. The fresh herbs make all the difference. They weren't overpowering but just right. The bread crumbs on top need only a little spritz of cooking spray to make them crispy. I added too much so I had to broil the loin for a few minutes because then were a little soggy. This dish was delicious and I will definitely be making again.

My husband couldn't believe this was home made. He ate it up! I did add a can of corn, black beans and rotel. Easy and delicious along side any mexican dish.

Dressed-Up Broccoli

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Yummy! I never thought I would be saying that about broccoli. This was a quick and easy way to prepare broccoli. I seemed kind of fancy actually. My family loved it. I served it as a side to herb crusted pork loin. Broiling the whole dish at the end really makes it. Thanks for the recipe.

Smoky Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This was a tasty soup. I like the salty, smoky taste of using the sausage. I used my slow cooker for approx 2 hours on high. I microwaved the cubed potatoes for about 3 mins prior to help soften the potatoes ahead of time. I did make a novice mistake and let the soup continue to cook after adding the evaporated milk. This ended up making the soup grainy. I still tasted great and I will make it again.

Good drink. I served to my Bunco group this fall. Just a little too much cinnamon. Could use less. Will try it warm next time. Thanks!!

Country Apple Dumplings

Amazing!!! These were delicious and so easy. They were so quick to prepare and tasted great. I used 1/2 white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar and a shake of cinammon. You could probably even use a little less butter. Thanks so much for such a quick, easy, tasty recipe.

All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This turned out fairly good for me. I doubled the recipe, added 2 tsp seasoning salt, 1.5 tsp garlic powder, 1.5-2 tsp pepper and added the noodles without cooking. I cooked on low for about 2.5 hours while we were at my dtrs soccer game. I was surprised at how fast it cooked but the noodles were still a little hard. The sides were almost burned by that time. I added more milk and let it cook for another 20 mins. The liquid was absorbed so quickly I will definitely add more next time. Overall, very good flavor. Thanks!!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Unbelievable!!! The most moist bread I have ever made. It must be the sour cream that does the trick. I thought for sure I had messed the whole thing up because I forgot to put in the eggs. I put the bread in the oven and turned around to see the eggs sitting on the counter. Ugghh...But to my surprise it still turned out great. It did take approx 1hr and 1 minutes to get done. I also loved the sprinkle of cinammon and sugar in the bottom of the dish. Overall an excellent recipe. Thanks!!

Banana Crumb Muffins

These were great. The only thing I would add next time is some walnuts. Thank you to all the reviewers since the little changes made these over the top. I added vanilla and cinammon to the batter as well as used oil instead of butter. I baked for exactly 18 minutes and they were prefect. Everyone loved them.

Great recipe. This was my first time cooking orzo and everyone really liked it. I would recommend decreasing the cooking time or increasing the stock since mine turned out slightly dry. I will be making this part of our rotation.

Blueberry Breakfast Sauce

Very tasty recipe. I made this for the top of no bake cheese cake. The flavor was great. I added an extra tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken it a little more. This made it almost gel like. I won't use quite as much next time.

Pudding Shots

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This recipe turned out great!! I did modify a little and took the advice from other reviews and had great results. I did add a tub of cool whip after mixing and placed the shots in the freezer overnight. They ended up like tasty little portions of creamy chocolate ice cream with a bite. What else could you ask for?? They were gobbled up quick.

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This was delicious, rich and definitely a splurge. It was thick and creamy and tasted best cold. I made it really fancy with strawberries everywhere, even between the layers. I did use another reviewers idea to add dry cream cheese pudding to the frosting recipe and let it chill overnight. It was just the right "spreading" consistency. This cake received many compliments. Thanks for the recipe!!

These were right up our alley!! We loved them, kids and adults a like. I read many post prior to baking which really helped. They literally turned out perfect. Freezing the dough, baking for exactly 18 minutes and leaving in the pan for 10 minutes did the trick. Thanks for the great recipe, lovestohost! We will be making these over and over.

Clam Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
My family had the best time preparing and feasting on this meal. We gathered together from all over the country to celebrate out mother's 60th birthday. We filled up a huge pot with potatoes, corn, sausage, shrimp, clams, mussels and lobster tails. We did layer seaweed in bottom of pot and in between some layers to avoid scorching. We used a mix of chicken broth and white wine as well as chopped garlic, sea salt and old bay seasoning. We steamed it over our firepit for about 45-60 minutes. We put brown paper on a large table outside and poured the contents of the pot on the table. Everyone just gathered around the table and feasted on the food as they liked. It was so delicious and fun we decided it was going to be our 1st annual clam bake to be repeated every summer. We may change the order of placement of seafood because the shrimp and mussels did get a little over done. Also be careful how much liquid you use. You don't really want the seafood floating in it. We may change a few things next time but I would recommend trying this for a fun and different meal. Thanks for the post.
