Creamy Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
**Needs some tweeking** My changes and additions were: added two chix breast (boiled and shredded), 1/8th tsp thyme, used two C Skim Milk, one C Evaporated Milk, omitted the water and the salt, and dumped in a can of creamed corn right before thickening... Next time I will definitely use two cans. As is written I was not impressed.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
YUM! This is comfort food at its best! I made a few changes and additions. I used only one pound of stew meat. Anymore would be too much. My additions were to use 1/3 C Flour, two cloves of garlic, two bay leaves, 1/2 C Red Wine, 3 stalks of celery, and chopped mushrooms. I used another reviewers suggestion to put the flour, salt, pepper, and beef in a zip lock to coat them meat. Then browned the beef in a skillet, then add the onions until soft. Then poured in the liquids and cooked on med for 5-7 mins. Combined everything in crock pot and cooked on HIGH for 4 hours. So GOOD!!

This was pretty good. The hubby liked it. I used two cans of soup and I added 1/4 tsp of red pepper. I'm not big on Tuna so 4 stars is good! =)

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Everyone loves these! I baked at 325 for about 35mins and then at 350 for the last ten mins. I made them for a house party so after I baked them I put them in a crock pot and poured about a 1/2C Maple Syrup over them. Mmmmm soo good! These are super easy to prep the night before!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
DELIGHTFUL! The are so good. I have always made this kind of cookie with a chocolate kiss or star but the peanut butter cup is EVEN BETTER! I don't know if I'll ever make them any different again! I followed other reviewers suggestions to wait a min or two after removing from oven (the centers begin to sink) to add the PB cup. And refrigerate before removing from muffin pan. That does work best but is not required. I was rushed and removed from pan and then stuck in fridge and it worked fine. Anyhoo, these are great and I recommend them!

Mushroom Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
This was sooo good! I used a 2.5lb beef bottom roast and followed the recipe otherwise. After I removed the meat from the pot I added cornstarch to the Au Jue and turned my crock pot on high for about 10 mins to make a gravy for the beef and some mashed potatoes on the side. Mm Mm Good! Will definitely make again!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Amazing Pie Crust! I took the advice from another reviewer. KEEP EVERYTHING COLD! And I blended the butter, salt and flour in a food processor until coarse crumbles. Then put in a bowl and added 2 TBSP water, one at a time, mushing with fork in-between. DO NOT OVER MIX! Made a ball and wrapped in plastic wrap. Put in freezer for approx 1 hour. Then its ready to roll out! It turned out so flaky! De-LISH! Will definitely use again!

Yum! I did this with ground beef that I browned and then simmered with some taco seasoning. I also added black beans! Husband loved it! This would be a great appetizer for a crowd!

Yum, yum yum! I didn't do a thing different. I wouldn't necessarily say they were chewy though. Delicious all the same!

Wonderful, refreshing salad! Perfect for a hot summer day! I whipped this together in no time and let it marinate for approx. 3 hours! Used fresh basil straight from my garden. DELISH! Can't wait to make again!

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
This salad is like something out of a restaurant. Very Good. Next time I will greatly reduce the amount of butter used in making the crunchies. I may use another reviewers suggestion to use the spray butter. I thought I would have trouble finding Napa Cabbage in my small town but surprisingly Walmart and HyVee had it. I just never knew what it was until then. Will definitely make again!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Yummy! I was worried that these would lack flavor without any additions but these were PERFECT! If you wanted to cater this around a main dish, you could add stuff such as herbs, or bacon but trust me, they're great on their own!

Honey Fruit Salad

Very refreshing salad! I used more like 2 TBSP lemon juice. For fruit I used two different melons, strawberries, blueberries and bananas. I had the fruit minus the bananas cut up the night before and then added the bananas and juice mix right before serving.

Carrot Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
I liked the looks of this recipe due to the ingredients being healthier. I was somewhat skeptical after reading other reviews about it being chewy. Mine was not chewy, just VERY dense like a very moist pumpkin bread. It did not rise much. Don't get me wrong, it was still VERY good, it just was not light and fluffy by any means.

Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Wonderful Coffee Cake that was a hit at the office. This is a super moist cake and the crumble topping is perfect! I loved the fact that I could make it up the night before. Definitely a keeper for holiday mornings! One co-worker's comment, "the only way this could be any better is with a glass of milk!" =) Will definitely bake again!
