About this Cook
Banker, wife and mother of four children. It has to be fast and tasty or we are eating out.
My favorite things to cook
I cook out of necessity and only love it when I am desperately craving something that I can't find in a restaurant.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am from Germany and love German food. I can't find a decent pretzel anywhere and to make them you have to have to use lye, which is very caustic.

Easy Masoor Daal
Yum and thank you. I used fresh onions that I sauteed first and added garam masala, fresh ginger and cayenne. I didn't have any turmeric or cumin but the garam masala is so flavorful, although difficult to find. Also added a chicken boullion cube to my doubled recipe. Tasted like our local Ethiopian restaurant.

Grilled Indian Chicken
I don't know if yogurt makes for a good marinade. I had plenty of garlic and used garam masala but my chicken burned on the grill and although it was juicy didn't have enough flavor.
