About this Cook
I am a female vegetarian married to a man who loves his meat! This means making two meals each night which can get interesting. I never used to be interested in cooking. My parents cooked almost every night and I took it for granted. Once I moved in with my sweetie, we went out more than we ate at home. When we did eat at home, it was often unhealthy, easy to prepare meals. Finally, the unhealthy food and amount of money spent started getting to me...and the experiments began!
My favorite things to cook
I love making stir frys. We tend to have really random, misc ingredients in our fridge and freezer and a stir fry is a wonderful way to use those up!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas morning, my dad makes a mustard egg dish. It is TASTY. The best part is, that is the one time a year that we have it. Christmas morning, the entire family is practically drooling when we wake up!
My cooking triumphs
One of the first nights that I had decided to cook was Super Bowl Sunday. We threw a very impromptu party for our neighbors. I ended up throwing together the Tiny Chicken Turnovers, Super Bowl Cups and Sicilian Skewers from this site as well as a chedder ham dip. Everyone raved!

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs
These were a hit! I gave it 4 stars because I made the changes suggested in other recipies (subbing BBQ sauce for ketcup and ketchup for chili sauce). The other reason I gave it a 4 was because the recipie would not have made enough sauce as written! There are only two of us and only one meat eater so I just did 1 pound of ribs and made sauce for 4 pounds which made just enough extra for some rice. The only thing my hubby recommended was rotating the ribs halfway through. But he also said that he would divorce me if I don't make these again!

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich
These were tasty and so easy to make! It is tough for me to find a vegetarian meal my husband enjoys!

Easy Crabmeat Enchiladas
I was not a fan. These probably would have been better with real crab but I found that even with less imitation crab that was called for, there was still way to much. Plus is was really, really messy.
