About this Cook
Entrepreneur and grandmother of 8 at age 52. Enjoy creating congenial atmosphere for all the families in my immediate circle. Encourage all to build memories, take pics and enjoy life with one another. Family is first then everything else follows. Cooking is an activity that can be shared with all ages and a good family tradition used to bond familial relationships.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook so to pic a fav is very difficult. I am going to go with chicken. There are so many ways to prepare chicken that we could eat it every day for a month and still crave a taste for it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday barbecues with my son is my favorite because I let him grill, me and his wife share the responsibility of preparing the rest of the meal. Thanksgiving and Christmas are becoming bigger and better with all the new additions coming into the family. We have three generations participating now.
My cooking triumphs
I had to prepare the meal for one of my son's wedding. His wife wanted a full course meal for 150 people, the caterer fell through at the last minute and I volunteered. Other than the fact I was late to the ceremony and missed my march in song, it was great! Received so many compliments on the food.
My cooking tragedies
I am trying to get that lemon pepper wing sauce they have at this deli at the Mall (American Deli), I searched for a recipe, found one, deep fried it, it cooked extremely fast and burnt. My daughter came in and grabbed some and said Mom why are the wings black? I stated, because they are burnt. Everyone laughed because she had already eaten one of them.

Lemon Dijon Wings
This one was okay, it did not have the lemony burst of flavor I am looking for. This one was also very easy and quick to prepare. Will do again, just not soon.

Excellent Shrimp Creole
This recipe was good. I had to decrease the ingredients by half. Quick and easy to prepare, toasted garlic french roll compliments this recipe well. Served over white rice, will try pasta the next time around.

Cabbage on the Grill
This was the same as my steamed cabbage, minus the butter. I use bacon grease for the flavor. The butter was good and I cut the cooking time down due to I like the crisp in the cabbage. Overall It is a good easy and quick recipe that I will try again.
