About this Cook
I'm a wife, a mom to 2 little girls, a runner, a nurse, and I love to be in the kitchen when I have the time. I am always trying to find tasty healthy recipes- but I love a good splurge recipe once in awhile too. Allrecipes is addicting!
My favorite things to cook
I have been baking for a long time- so I feel comfortable with that. I love to experiment with different breads. I am a "decent" cook- getting better with experience. I love to bake and cook for other people- and do so every opportunity I get.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday mornings growing up mom would make the best cinnamon coffee cake I have ever tasted- which was passed down many generations before her. Once in awhile she would make her famous mashed potato cinnamon rolls instead. They are to die for!
My cooking triumphs
I don't have too many problems with what I make. I am still learning to alter recipes to make them more healthy for my family- with trial and error- but they usually turn out good. I love baking breads, sweets, and anything with cheese or chocolate- if only those things were good for us!
My cooking tragedies
Umm... dropping the hot pads in the oven and starting them on fire! I took tongs and ran them outside, screaming all the way. Hang on to those babies tightly! :)

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread
OH MY! I've tried SO many healthy quick breads and this is the BEST! I don't know why I waited so long to try this one. This is how I will use all my old bananas from now on. I did add some cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and a bit more canola oil (after reading the reviews). I think next time I will try with applesauce- I didn't have any in the house today. Maybe agave nectar in place of some of the honey. Awesome bread! I felt like I was being naughty and eating something unhealthy. I'm going to make another loaf tomorrow. Love it!

Zesty Pita Chips
We used 100% whole wheat pita bread- very tasty. My toddlers didn't like it with the spices- but it left more for my husband and I. :) We dipped them in pasta sauce. A good healthy treat. Yum!

Cinnamon Bread I
Good! After reading all the reviews- I tripled the topping- put 2/3 inside and 1/3 on top. Then I drizzled some icing on top- yum!
