These cookies are very yummy! I did crush the pecans and mixed them into the batter rather than placing them on top. Refrigerate the dough if you are taking any kind of vreak, as if the dough warms up, it becomes hard to work with. I wound up putting mine in the freezer in between batches. Rather than using the bottom of the cup method, I rolled these in balls, rolled them through sugar and then flattened them either with a fork (like peanut butter cookies) or by placing parchment paper on top and using my hand. I did follow others by using a tsp. vanilla and a whole cup of brown sugar:) My only complaint is that for some reason, my cookies looked wet, even after they were done!! That could have been my fault somehow though! Again, very tasty and will definitely be made again in my kitchen!

Photography Notes: Cookies are not easy to photograph!! I first had them on a glass cake/cookie server, but found that they took better if the background was a darker color!
