About this Cook
I wish I would write more reviews and share more recipes and remember to take pictures!! I love allrecipes. I don't have to waste my effort and money anymore! (As long as I'm paying attention, I guess. I still have burned rice from time to time!!) Thanks to everyone who makes this site as great as it is!!
My favorite things to cook
Anything healthy that makes my family say, "Mmmmm!! Is there more?"
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have supper every nite as a family. We really value that-- it wasn't easy to start, so we don't give it up that easily.
My cooking triumphs
All of them now, thanks to allrecipes!
My cooking tragedies
Now you need to know- My grandmother had a restaurant, and my aunts are caterers- they get raves for everything they do-they were accomplishing cooking feats when they were 15 to 18yrs old that I never did till I got married at 22. I am ashamed of this, but I'll share it... about 7 years ago, before I knew anything about anything, I tried to cook a huge bag of corn to bring to a huge family Easter dinner. Well, cooking the corn-it made me late, and it wasn't cooked properly. Plus, with all the stress it caused me, no one really even ate the stupid corn because there was so much other great stuff to eat!! I still get asked to just bring the buns or pop. They tell me its because I still have smaller children, and they "don't want to overwhelm me." Sigh. I was such a goof. But wait!! They always get me to make the hummus!! And every question they have about ethnic food? -they come to me.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
I did follow the recipe as stated, EXCEPT i added butterscotch chips in place of chocolate, because my hunny came home from his buddies house where his buddies wife had made banana muffins the same. He has been begging me to make them, so I made them today. He's claimed the whole pan and treating it like a precious commodity. lol!!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
oh my! this was good. my changes were: I used a half jar of salsa- i forgot tomatoes, and added a full can of black beans. I loved every bit of it. I baked the oiled tortillas whole, stacked them all in a serving bowl, and cracked them all by pushing them down. nice soup!!

Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup
This was very good...i had some leftover sweet potato to use, perfect! next time i will puree it all for a smooth texture; maybe I´ll even add some natural ground smooth peanut butter... Thanks for the good recipe...
