About this Cook
My husband Taro and I have been married for eight years. We recently welcomed a baby boy into our family. His name is Alexander Juntaro. He is a joy!!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Cookies and other types of desserts are my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my mom and dad are fantastic cooks. My mom is an awesome baker, especially bread and pies. Hopefully I will learn a thing or two from her. :) My husband is also a terrific cook. In fact, he makes dinner almost every night. He really likes to cook. But now that I will be staying home with the baby, I think I will be taking over that responsibility.
My cooking tragedies
This is more of a kitchen tragedy, rather than a cooking one. I had a coffee mug sitting on the back ledge of the stove to put old cooking grease in. One night we were cooking something in the oven, and we were in the other room watching tv. Suddenly we heard heard a weird noise like something boiling over on the stove, only there wasn't anything on the stove. My husband and I both ran to the kitchen just in time to see the grease contents shooting out of the coffee mug about two feet into the air and landing everywhere. It was scary. I can laugh about it now. The lesson learned... never keep a grease cup on our near the stove.

Southwestern Caesar Salad
I added some black beans and corn as another reviewer suggested. And I am glad I did. The dressing was really thick, but delicious! I did not add the anchovies.

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake
I made the bundt cake version of this recipe. About an hour and 10 minutes to bake. I also folded in blueberries into the batter. Very moist and delicious.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits
This recipe worked perfectly. The biscuits were delicious. In fact, I could only use one hand because I was holding my newborn baby the whole time. It was that easy to make. Would definitely make this again.
