Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This recipe made extremely good cookies. Not my all time favorite cookie but a very very good one. I didn't have preserves so I just used the jelly I had. It still tasted wonderful. I had to bake them a tad bit longer than the recipe called for, but that wasn't a problem. I love that the next day the cookies are still a tiny bit soft, I hate it when cookies get super hard in a day or two. I will make this recipe again.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
My family really liked this soup. I only gave 4 stars though because I had to modify it a bit. Fresh and canned veggies instead of frozen. I substituted 1 cup of beef broth for 1 of the cups of chicken broth. I also seasoned the ground beef with fresh garlic and italian seasoning. I expect it to be even better tomorrow.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I liked the cake a little. I guess it is just too dense for me. That said the recipe was fine, I made a few alterations and it turned out well. Again it just isn't for me. I might try another pound cake recipe, but probably not this one again.

Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
I didn't use all the green beans or bacon. I also took the foil off and turned the bundles then put them back in for about a minute and a half. This is a favorite recipe of mine now. I have cooked it at least 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The best!!!

Grandma's Onion Rings (Southern Style)

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
This is a wonderful recipe if you make a few of your own additions. I did as a some of the other reviews suggested and used Bisquick instead of flour. I also added a bit more salt and pepper, and threw in some Louisiana Cajun Seasoning. I also sliced the onions pretty thin - I like the more shoestring like onion rings. Oh my gosh, they were so so good. My husband, who doesn't even really like onion rings, ate himself silly. So did my 6 year old daughter. I can tell this will be a much requested recipe.
