Excellent! I used sweet yellow onion because I didn't have red, otherwise made as written. YUM. Thanks for the recipe!

I LUV these - I even liked them cold. I would do this with feta for soemthing different, but they are great as written. Thanks for the recipe!

Simply Fruit

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
This is really good. Great fruit combo. I used green grapes instead of red because that's what I had. I would probably go a little easy on the sugar next time, but my tooth isn't real sweet, so the written amount may be fine for most. Thanks! :)

Peach-a-Berry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This pie is fantastic, not too sweet, full fruit flavor. I followed this recipe as written, using Best Ever Pie Crust form this site. I also used a deep-dish pie pan, so I increased the fruit by 2 cups and adjusted the flour & sugar accordingly (left the cinnamon at 1t). Simpy delicious! I've been trying to get a picture as the guys eat through it. We'll see . Thanks for the recipe!

Buckeye Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
These are yummy. There is a fine line between too much and too little powdered sugar in this one. With the full amount, my dough was a little crumby, so I added more pb. I got a little bored about halfway through dipping all of these, so I rolled the rest in chopped peanuts and sea salt. Both are delicious. Thanks!

Fresh Pea Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Excellent! I used frozen petite peas and followed the recipe as written. I think chicken broth would be nice for this, but straight up salt and pepper really highlight the sweet pea flavor. I whipped my cream slightly and used it as a garnish with a few baby peas. Cute. Thanks for the recipe!

Spinach Salad with Honey Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Very good salad. Loved the fruit/bacon/veggie/seed combination. The dressing is a little sweet for me, but worked well with this - especially good when paired with the spicy Peppered Pork Tenderloin from this site. Thanks for the recipe!

Good and easy. I used cayenne pepper and it was SPICY! Okay for us, but take it easy if you are the sensitive type. Thanks for the recipe!

Avocado Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Nice! I was a little worried about the green peppers taking over the world, but they worked well in this after all. I did add one chopped jalepeno for heat, but made as written otherwise. Thanks for the recipe! :)

Restaurant Style Chicken Nachos

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Yum! You can obviously get as funky as you want with this recipe. I went with the recipe pretty much as written, but added a little salsa con queso along with the regular salsa in the chicken, and black olives to the top. Nachos for dinner, what next? Thanks for the recipe! :)

Tuscan Pork Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Yum! One of my most favorite combinations in all the world is green beans and tomatoes. This recipe adds a couple more of my favorite things and rocks my face off. I'm not a huge polenta fan, but my guy loves it so I pan-fried it and served it on the side of the "stir-fry" (though I did taste it and it went very well with this). The brand of petite diced garlic tomatoes I got had a thickish liquid, so I only added half the cornstarch called for and it was perfect. I imagine regular diced tomatoes are juicy enough to use the full amount. Thanks for the recipe - excellent! :)

Nonna's Tuscan Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Good stuff! I made this exactly as written with the submitters correction on the water and including the garlic. I would likely even up the oil/water percentages next time, as I really like the texture olive oil brings to the party, but we enjoyed the flavor very much - and look forward to having it again. Thanks for the recipe!

Chilled Marinated Asparagus

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Very good! Half the dressing and you will have plenty (no sense in draining away twice as much). I found this just a little heavy on the soy and oil, but otherwise delicious! The toasted pecans are a great touch. Thanks for the recipe!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
This turned out really good. I used shredded sharp cheddar and shredded jack because that's what I had, and I tweaked the seasons by adding onion & garlic powder and black pepper. I formed mine into a french bread-shaped loaf and baked it on a sprayed & foil-lined baking sheet - I've found this helps cut down on burning in meatloaves that have sticking potential. I'll try this again some time when I have the cheese to cube. Thanks for the recipe!

Chive Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
Really good! I tripled the recipe and sliced half of my mushrooms, chopping the rest because I like a little more texture. Minus some of the liquid, this would be a really good sub for Cream of Soup in a can - but tastier, of course. Thanks for the recipe!

Adobo Sirloin

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
This is good. Remember that chipotle in adobo sauce is HOT, so taste it for yourself before you get all willy-nilly on your marinade. I used the full amount and was fine with it (but, yow!). I agree with another reviwer about the lime getting lost a bit, so I would likely add more lime next time. Still great steaks, great idea. Thanks!

Mexican Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
The pancakes for this are perfect. I was even able to use frozen shredded potatoes so I wouldn't have to grate my own (I used 1 cup per potato called for). Mine browned perfectly in 3-4 minutes per side on medium heat. I did add a little extra hot sauce to the batter. I was underwhelmed with the tomato sauce for this. I's a little time consuming to reduce the water out of it and then you're left with a relatively bland conconction. You could tweak aroud with it and get it more interesting and flavorful, or you can skip it altgether and use your favorite salsa. I was tempted to give this recipe a 3 because of it, but I decided that the potatoes were worth a good rating. I'll make them again, thanks!

Jicama and Melon Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Clean, refreshing and delicious! Make sure to let your salad chill to blend the flavors of the dressing with the mint and fruit. A dash of salt brings out the honeydew like mad. I followed this recipe as written except for the salt and I cut my jicama into stars because I'm the nerd of the herd. Thanks for the recipe!
