The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
Very good! I used crunchy peanut butter because that's what I had AND added the cup of peanuts - yum. These cookies are very peanut buttery and tender - soft shortbread-y and melt-in-your-mouth. Thanks!

Creamy Horseradish Garlic Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
Yum! I loved the fluffy/creamy texture of this. I amped the horseradish and pepper just a little because I'm a fiend, but it's also awesome as written. I used this on rib eye steaks the first day, and made roast beef and cucumber appetizers with it the second - both were excellent. Thanks for the recipe!

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

These are good and really easy to make. I added a little soy sauce, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper. Thanks for the recipe!

Zippy Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Nice! I made this exactly as written, aside from halving the recipe. My guys were happy, so I'll likely make it again. Thanks!

Melon 'n' Grape Medley

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Very good! I'll probably cut back a little on the honey next time. I followed the recipe as written, except I chunked my melon instead of balling it (raise your hand if you hate melon-balling!) Thanks for the recipe! :)

Jambalasta

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Excellent! I made this as directed except I skipped the cornstarch (maybe my tomatoes, but I didn't need it), and tossed my sauce with the linguine. I also added the shrimp in the last few minutes with the pasta - I think they could have gotten too done as written. Anyway, fabulous idea and flavors - my guys were thrilled. I threw some chopped green and yellow peppers and chopped parsely on when I served it. Thanks for the recipe - nicely done! :)

Creamy Buttermilk Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Very good! I used whole fat sour cream because that's what I had. Next time I'd like to perk this up with some green onion or chives. Nice as written, though. Thanks!

Southwest-Style Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Great idea! I had some egg roll wrappers that needed to be used, so I did a search for fun ways to fill them and this recipe came up. I ended up jazzing my filling with more cumin, some chipotle pepper, and salt & pepper. Thanks for the recipe = the guys loved them!

Chocolate Dipped Bing Cherries

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Pretty and delicious! I made these with a combination of Bing and Rainier cherries. Pitting the cherries without wrecking them is kind of a pain in the tail, so I only made about a dozen. I'd like to try this again with different extracts too. Thanks for the recipe! :)

Spicy Pepper-Glazed Pork Medallions

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
I have to agree that the sauce for this is too thin - so I also added cornstarch. I made this recipe with homemade jalepeno jam that I'd been given. Very tasty, thanks!

Soft Mahi Mahi Tacos with Ginger-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
These turned out really well. I made them as directed, but ended up really increasing the heat and flavor of the sauce and the salsa towards the end. I think a green taco sauce would be excellent with this to counter the sweetness, in addition to the ginger-lime dressing and fruit salsa. I added red cabbage to our tacos for texture. Thanks for the recipe!

Mango Frappe

Very good and refreshing! I used seltzer water instead of club soda because I already had some. Next time I will use a little less lime and a lot more ice. Thanks!

Peachy Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
Yum! I made this exactly as directed, except I added rum flavoring to caramel sauce I already had. Next time I might use a smaller pan, as my bread pudding turned out a little flat. Delicious with whipped cream, ice cream or alone. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Jerusalem II

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
This was excellent - with a little help from Naples' review. The sauce does take a very long time to come together, but its delicious when it does. I served this with saffron rice as suggested by the submitter. Thanks for the recipe (and thank you Naples)!

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter

Great flavor combination! I loved the blue cheese butter, but the marinade is also very good alone if you have blue cheese haters at the table. Thanks for the recipe - a keeper!

Tomato and Endive Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I made this with curly endive because there wasn't any escarole endive at my store. I think I'd like to try it again with the escarole, but it was very good as written (can't go wrong with bacon and tomato, really). Thanks!

'So This Is What Heaven Tastes Like!' Cream Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
Excellent, excellent. These are very buttery-tasting, soft shortbread-y bars - totally addictive. I'm not a maraschino fan, but liked the idea of cherries with the chocolate and nuts, so I used chopped dried cherries in mine - fantastic substitution if you like them. I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Heavenly! Thanks, Grasshopper! :)

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Great - and messy! I warmed the bread/cheese in the oven because I was afraid I'd burn it. Otherwise made as written. Thanks for the recipe!
