I learned how to cook from my great-grandmother who use to have quite a table spread that included her famous homemade biscuits. One of my most prized possessions is an old southern church cookbook that she gave me.
I was a veterinarian for a few years and liked to adapt meat recipes into vege ones.
I am now a meat eater again and like to try different types of foods.
My favorite things to cook
My Lasagna (I hate ricotta cheese and instead use a cream cheese mixture); my biscuits-that I got from the church cookbook; I make a Cheese Ball that was passed down;
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern.
My cooking triumphs
When my husband brags about my food to people...and makes me make them. It makes me feel like I have a "thing" that I make that people love.
My mother-in-law was on a strict diet once and I made a yummy fruit salad that she still asks for, even though she isn't on the diet anymore!
My cooking tragedies
I am afraid of yeast. I only use self rising flour. When trying to make something from scratch--I never can get the baking powder/soda/salt formula right.
