About this Cook
I'm a newly wed and I am in my senior year in college. I have always liked to cook and experiment with new recipes, but now that I am married I am cooking a lot more than I used to and I am enjoying it. I have a high need for creativity in my life, and cooking really helps me channel that creativity into something yummy!
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, casseroles, pastas, ANYTHING with potatoes, mexican dishes, crock pot meals, ect.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our traditional recipes were my mother's cheesy potato casserole and her chocolate chess pie. mmmmmm.
My cooking triumphs
Over Thanksgiving I made a dessert called "pumpkin pie bars" and took half of the batch to my in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner and the rest of the batch for my family back at home. Both sides loved them and my mother-in-law asked for the recipe...as a newly wed I would say that is a cooking triumph!
My cooking tragedies
One night (a poor college student night) we had barely any food left in the pantry so I decided to get "creative" and make.........macaroni and cheese sandwiches. It fell apart as my husband ate it and he said "ugh, this is toooo much! too heavy." So he took the bread off and ate the mac and cheese alone. I claimed I liked it, but secretly thought it was gross too. Haha...not really a "tragedy" but bad judgment on my part.

Plantation-Style Vanilla Lemonade
mmmmmm yummy! Im new to making homemade lemonade so I skipped the rind part and just blended the pulp and juice in a blender with the sugar water. I like it...the vanilla adds a great touch!

Chewy Sugar Cookies
pretty good sugar cookies.I cooked 2 batches at the same time. the ones on the older pan w/ sides and they turned out great. The other ones on the new flat baking sheet did not cook all the way (after almost double the time) and stuck horribly to the bakers sheet. FYI. recipe is good though.

Easter Breakfast Casserole
This was good! I didn't have any bacon so I just left it out (will def. add it next time). I added garlic and salt and pepper to the eggs. I also put the hashbrowns on bottom and left a little bit to garnish on top w/ some cheese. Thanks for posting this, it was exactly what I was looking for with the materials I had. :)
