Korean Spicy Chicken and Potato (Tak Toritang)
About this Cook
Mid twenties, graduate student, wife, loves food but too lazy (and not skilled enough) to cook complicated recipes. owner of all sorts of kitchen gadgets.
My favorite things to cook
Quick and easy recipes... no fancy methods or long list of ingredients for me! Asian food (esp. stir fry) and desserts.
My cooking triumphs
Korean bbq beef (bulgogi) Oven roast chicken Stir fried garlic spinach (ong choy, shanghai bok choy, pea tips, .. any greens) Oven roasted green beans My all-star recipes that never failed on me : )
My cooking tragedies
Indian lentil soup.... first time my husband ever said this isn't too good.(I'm going to learn from an Indian friend next, not from a random recipe) Deep frying too-thick donkatsu in a small studio... fire alarm started going off and my date (now my husband) arrived to watch me frantically waving a blanket at the fire alarm to shut it off.

Red Lentil Curry
very tasty! as suggested by other users, i doubled up on the spices (but halved the salt), used powered garlic and ginger because that's what i had on hand, used diced tomatoes, used 3 small onions and tossed in 1/2 bag of frozen peas. boiled the lentils for ~ 5minutes until i realized there was not enough room in the pot so i moved it to a slow cooker until the lentils were soft (~30 min to 1 hr). drained and added curry mix and let it sit in the slow cooker for a while. yum! tasty by itself but a naan or some rice would have been nice

Easy Indian Butter Chicken
this is very delicious. I substitute coconut milk for cream/evaporated milk. I also throw in peas and broccoli to add some veggies.
