Excellent recipe, my family and friends all loved it. I went with the unaltered recipe. I wouldn't tweak it a bit from the original, at least not yet. I was a little suspicious at first since it didn't look as good as I would have liked but all doubts vanished as soon as I tasted it. The base recipe made a huge amount of soup which I froze and reheated later. It came back from the freezer great, just as good as before it went in.

A most excellent clone. I went for a little healthier mix and used 2% milk and low sodium beef broth to reduce fat and sodium and it was still first-rate. I also reduced the cooking time from 1:30 to about 1:15, the onions were plenty done so next time I'll drop it to about an hour. Big thanks to the original poster for this recipe!

I'd like to punch up the flavor a bit but it was easy, straightforward to cook and made my family happy. It's a 4.5 star but since I had to go 4 or 5 I went with 5 stars.

Excellent recipe! I added some chicken spices to the chicken while cooking but that wasn't really a significant difference. I also went with doubling the butter, chicken broth and milk added and judged that to be about the perfect amount of sauce. My wife dislikes peas so next time I'm going to get some potatoes in there along with the peas and carrots. I'm thinking of using some finely mashed potatoes along with the flour to thicken the sauce along with some chunks of potatoes. I'm also going to try enhancing the chicken flavor by dropping the added salt and using some of the low sodium "Better Than Boullion" chicken base. I also want to experiment with the amount of butter since doubling it might have tasted good but I want something healthier.

Very quick and easy recipe and most importantly, my family loved it. I'd think it is fairly obvious but this is a meal for a family looking for comfort style food not someone looking for fine dining. It really didn't come out tasting all that much like pizza to me but the taste was appealing and enjoyable. I would describe it as a pizza meets lasagne meets goulash dish and it fits beautifully into a rotation that would include them as a change of pace. I made a double recipe and substituted another brand of sausage that didn't really cook down all that much. This made the recipe far too sausage heavy. Next time I'm going to try about half the sausage and see how it goes. I also doubled the pepperoni which seemed to work out well.

Very nice base recipe that is not only delicious as is but is great to extend in any way you can think of.

Made it for the first time today and it was excellent my family really enjoyed it. I also think this could serve as one heck of a base for a lot of improvisations. I diverged from the recipe in the following ways: I put all the juice from the bag in. I think that made it too liquid unless you strain it at serving time. I think next time I'll try removing the liquid from the tomatoes and use all the juice from the meat. I didn't use a Dutch oven, I put all the ingredients back into the slow cooker while I shredded the beef, brought it to boiling on high and then let it go for an hour on low. I also threw in a small can of green chili peppers since I was using Pace mild salsa. Even with them added I still got compliments from the pepper sensitive folks I have to feed.

Excellent bread, very easy to make and consistent. It also is a wonderful base for other variations, as an example, I throw in a 8 oz container of peach yogurt and replace the liquid with peach nectar for an excellent peach bread. Highly recommended!

Excellent bread. I personally am not a big fan of heavily herbed dishes in general however in this case, it really works beautifully. My wife and some of her friends who are more attuned to predominantly herbal flavors absolutely love this dish, it disappears almost instantly.
