About this Cook
We moved to Wisconsin a year ago, and I've yet to unpack a cookbook. Who needs cookbooks anymore with Allrecipes.com and the other resources available online? It's super quick and easy to find the perfect recipe with the perfect ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
As a stay-at-home mom of three picky eaters, I was falling into that familiar rut of cooking the same foods over and over again. When I discovered Allrecipes.com a few years ago, I discovered a resource to help me spice up everyday foods with new ingredients. My children are still picky eaters, but I'm challenged each day to try something just a little new and different.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from northern Minnesota - Norwegian and Swedes. Christmas time was always a fun experience as a child as my mom baked traditional Scandanavian cookies and lefse.
My cooking triumphs
I just received a bread maker for Christmas and have enjoyed finding the perfect bread recipe. Nothing beats the smell of fresh baked bread. I suppose the bread machine does not require much actual cooking on my part - but then again, that's the beauty of it! Quick, easy and delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I'm horrible at frying! I don't know how many batches of Southern Fried Chicken I've tried. It always results in soggy skin and a stinky house.

Caramel Popcorn
YUMMY! I've never made caramel popcorn before. This recipe is so easy to follow and the caramel popcorn is better than anything you can buy in the stores. I left it in the oven for the full 1 hour - the result was crunchy, caramel deliciousness.

Best Bread Machine Bread
Absolutely the best bread machine recipe that I have tried. This recipe produces a soft crust and a dense bread that is good even the next day. I use 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt. Yummy!
