Apple Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I followed the recipe EXACTLY as written and they came out more like little cakes than cookies. They rise quite a bit and are somewhat dense. They do however taste very good, the apples and cinnamon go great with the oats.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
Easy and tasty. However, too much oil in the recipe posted. Cut the oil back to 1/3 cup instead of 1/2 cup and they come out much better. Lemon cake mix is my favorite!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Absolutely delicious. I had exactly 3 overly ripe bananas that I didn't want to throw away. I'm so glad I came across this recipe! The muffins are moist, sweet and I love the crumble on top. I will definitely be making these again!

French Bread

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
This was my very first attempt at making French Bread. The bread is tasty and looks great! My husband thought it was a little dense, but he still scarfed up an entire loaf! I will admit, when I first took the dough out of the mixer and started kneading I thought I did something wrong! It was rough and hard to work with. I kneaded for about 10 minutes though and it came together perfectly. I also put a few ice cubes in the oven to create some steam and I think that really helped create a nice crust.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
I made this recipe once and it turned out great. Then I tried a few others just to get a feel for scratch cake baking and I have come right back to this recipe!!! It works out perfectly every single time, it's completely fool proof in my opinion. I have made these into 8" round cakes and cupcakes, and they are moist, light and just delicious. I will hang on to this one for good.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
Awesome recipe. The baking soda makes them puff up. They remind me of Soft Batch chewy cookies! So yummy. This recipe did make a TON of dough. I fit about 15 larger size cookies on one tray and I only used about a 1/3 of the dough out of the bowl. So I rolled the rest into a log, wrapped in wax paper and put in the fridge. Now I have at least two batches on standby. :)

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
Absolutely awesome stew. I made a large pot for St. Patty's Day and I had no leftovers. My friends went back for 2 and 3 bowls of it over the course of the night. I made it the day before on the stovetop, then transferred it to my slow cooker to refrigerate overnight. I taste tested it before I put it away and it was great. The next day all I had to do was put it on low for a few hours and my friends and family could just help themselves once it was up to temperature. I swear it tasted a million times better after staying in the fridge overnight!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
WOW! This recipe is the perfect pizza sauce. Even with minor tweaks depending on what is in our pantry, it always comes out delicious. We don't always have anchovy paste, but I always make sure to add the honey and crushed red pepper.

Perfect Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
WAY too much vinegar for my taste. Checked another recipe by Alton Brown for the same amount of rice and he only uses 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar. I reduced the amount of vinegar and cut out the vegetable oil and it came out much better.

Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops

I made these exactly according to directions and they came out delicious. I was looking for a low fat/low cal chocolate fix and this fit the bill. I even used splenda in place of regular sugar and they are very tasty.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Absolutely delicious...just enough peanut butter and oats to take this cookie above and beyond the traditional chocolate chip. I didn't make any changes and they came out perfect.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
So delicious. Definitely turn buns over once cool enough to handle so cinnamon filling can drip back through the entire bun...makes a huge difference in end result. I also made a sugar icing and drizzled over the top. Couldn't even get a picture before half of them were gone!!!

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
So yummy! The stuffing inside the chop was a little dry for me at first, but once I cut it open and poured the simmered broth and cooking juices over the chop - it soaked it all up and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be making this again!!!

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Excellent recipe, although I did follow the advice of some other reviewers and used milk instead of water. I also proofed my yeast in water for 10 minutes before mixing into the dough. Then allowed dough to rise for about 40 minutes before baking. Came out awesome! Thick, but still the right crumb for this kind of rustic bread. Will definitely use for pizzas in the future!!

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Great recipe for parties and potlucks. I make this all the time and now family almost expects it at every party!! I skip the ranch mix. I just mix cream cheese, tbsp of mayo, black pepper, garlic powder and dill.
