Slow-Cooked Country Ribs in Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I've made this 4 times already. The only thing I changed was omitting the water and boullion cube. Instead I added a can of beef broth. The house smells wonderful when this is cooking! I wanted to add, I've been making this using a 3 lb rib end roast instead of the country style ribs. The meat shreds easily and is delicious. I store the leftovers in the fridge without the extra gravy/sauce. When reheating, I just pour barbecue sauce on it for some good pulled pork sandwiches. This way we get 2 fantastic meals with 1 roast, each with different flavors, so it doesn't feel like we are eating leftovers. This is a favorite in our house, having it at least every other week.

Fish Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
This tasted very good, but I hate using that much butter in a dish, especially fish, since we try to eat fish as a "healthy" alternative to other things. I used half the amount of butter called for in this recipe, and it still seemed like too much to me. The fish tasted great, though!

Home-Style Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
Very good and easy. I made a few changes. Omitted the potatoes. Cooked ground beef, onion, and carrot in a dutch oven. The beef was lean and I didn't need to drain it. Omitted the water. Used 1 can low sodium beef broth instead. Prepared the rest as written. Added 2 handfuls of Ditalini pasta. Delicious! My husband had 2 large bowls for dinner!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
This was very good and I only changed it a little bit. First I used partially frozen chicken (cubed). I also used butter instead of margarine. After about 5 hrs of cooking, I added the soup and about 6oz of cream cheese. It seemed too think so I added some milk until it was the right consistance. After reading other reviews, I served it over rice instead of egg noodles. VERY good. Will make again !

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
Since others gave this good reviews, I can only assume I did something wrong (hard though when there's only 2 ingredients) because mine were horrible. I started with 4 semi-frozen chops since someone mentioned the frozen ones end up more tender, and the kraut. It didn't seem like there was enough liquid, so I added less than 1/2 cup apple juice. Sprinkled caraway seeds over top. Set the cooker to low (8hrs). I could tell that after FOUR hours, it was done, but it was only 2pm and we don't have dinner until 6. I put the cooker on WARM setting and let it sit. I ended up with chops that were SO dry that we couldn't eat them. My husband couldn't stand the smell when he got home that he refused to even try a bite. I tried it, but like I said, it was SO dry. Probably won't try this one again.

Tender Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
After reading other reviews, I omitted both the ranch dressing and cheese. The end result was a flavorless nugget.

Angel's Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
This was GREAT ! Easy to make. I used zucchini, basil, and Roma tomatoes from my garden. I shredded the zucchini to "hide" it and the kids even gobbled it up ! I've made this twice in a week. My husband wants the leftovers for work, but so far there haven't been any !

Great peanut butter cookies ! I've made other recipies in the past that just come out flat and boring. These are nice and almost cake-like. VERY good !

Caramel-Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
GREAT cookie. I made this last year for a holiday cookie exchange and came in first place ! Only thing I do different is use a little less sugar and I don't do the white chocolate drizzle on top. I also make some plain without the Rolos. It's a great chocolate cookie all on it's own.

Oregano-Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
Very good ! I used boneless breasts, though. I sprayed a glass baking dish with cooking spray first and didn't have any problem with the clean-up. I served this with spinach, and used the pan drippings to flavor it. Great meal and one that I will make often.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
YUM ! Very good, and very easy. Like a previous poster, I too squeezed fresh lemon juice on mine. I used a small lemon and sliced on half for slices on top of the fish, then squeezed the juice from the other half over the whole dish. I'm making it again tonight (second time in 1 week) but this time will go a little heavier with the Old Bay and salt.
