About this Cook
Retired, enjoy entertaining and making food for my guests to enjoy.
My favorite things to cook
Most anything. I like to experiment with classic dishes.
My cooking triumphs
Flan, cheesecake, bar-b-qued ribs, roast chicken
My cooking tragedies
1: Making tri-colored bread in food processor. Make one, tomato, spinich, and white dough and roll and braid together for a great bread. While lifting out tomato bread, sliced finger --- blood in bread!! Lucky it was in the tomato dough.. 2: Used baking soda instead of corn starch by accident in a stirfry reciepe for guests... tried to neutralize with lemon juice... was disasterous..

Ham Loaf I
I used reciepe exactly as written and it was great!! I would change nothing. I went to local butcher and had him grind the ham and pork.It would serve 10 easily with two sides. I served roasted sweet and white potato cubes and a salad. Marvelous.

Old-Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake
I used evaporated milk straight from can, since I had no cream. Found shortcake very good, not dry for me. Had strawberries that were really fresh. End result was excellent.

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing
I just made this for dinner guests this evening and I used seedless raspberry jam for the sugar and white balsamic vinegar. Excellent.
