I'm a stay at home mom with a 3 year old daughter, a rambunctious puppy and new home. Just moved with my fiance to Georgia after being in Florida my whole life. I love to read; I read anytime I have a chance and that now includes cookbooks. :) Just found out how much i love to cook so I try something new everyday.
My favorite things to cook
I really love asian food but can't seem to duplicate the food I've had. But I really like to cook just about anything. Baking is fun. There's nothing better than fresh baked bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Definitely the holidays. I love cooking with my mom and grandma. They make the best food. I always look forward to going back home and learning new little things. :)
My cooking triumphs
Being a stay at home mom I have every day to make something new. I love playing in the kitchen and then seeing my family enjoy it. But the best feeling was when my fiance came home to tell me that everyone at work was jealous of how good his leftovers looked and smelled. They all had fast food and were looking over at what he had. Everyday he has something new and then one day one of his buddies asked him, "What'd she make you this time? Filet mignon?" :) That was a good feeling.
My cooking tragedies
My brother came up to visit and i wanted to make a nice dinner so i tried making beef ravioli. I read a few recipes that used wonton wrappers for the ravioli so i bought some to use for this recipe. I made the sauce and beef mix and that was good but when I boiled the ravioli just like it said they came out horrible! They looked gooey and all the meat fell out. My brother compared the wrappers to oysters...they slid right down your throat...so gross! I'll have to try again but not with wonton wrappers.
