About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Oh, cakes and cookies, casseroles, stews (and all kinds of stuff that doesn't dirty too many dishes)!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a lamb roast it turned out absolutely perfect - unfortunately I've never managed to get it done that well again!
My cooking tragedies
Oh yeah, plenty! Forgetting baking powder in a chocolate cake for a friend's birthday is just one example. And I simply can't make good quick pasta sauces, so I usually end up spicing up jarred sauces. Maybe someday...

Black Joe Cake
Quick and tasty and just right for a low-budget household like mine. I did make a few minor changes, though: I reduced the sugar and doubled the cocoa. Next time I'm going to put in chocolate chips yet to make it chocolatier.
