Guacamole

this is the best guacamole I've had ... the balance of flavors is great and I get rave reviews every time I serve it ... this is one of the few recipes that I don't make any changes to, it's great just the way it's written.

Turkey Wild Rice Soup

I've been making this soup for a while now ... and like most cooks, have made some changes. I cook 2 chopped carrots, a chopped onion and 8 oz of sliced mushrooms ... set those aside until I add the turkey and 1/2 & 1/2 mixture ... I only use half of the butter and flour to save on calories and double the water and chicken broth ... this soup is still thick and creamy ... thanks for a great recipe.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice

This was fantastic ... I did, like most cooks, make some minor modifications. I added a Knorr chipotle bouillon cube and a packet of Knorr Sazon seasoning packet (found in the international aisle) to the rice before cooking. I sauteed 1/2 an onion and 2 cloves of garlic and added those to the rice mixture before baking. I was out of cilantro, so that got left out. This was some of the best Mexican style rice we've ever had. I WILL be making this again and again. Thanks so much for sharing.

New Potatoes with Caper Sauce

I think I cooked too many potatoes because there really wasn't much sauce in the bottom of the bowl ... however, the flavor was great ... I'll be making this again and cutting back on the amount of taters. I added more green onions because we love them but kept everything else the same. Thanks for a great new twist on ordinary taters.

Italian Sausage Soup II

had some Italian Turkey Sausage to use and chose this recipe ... turned out very good and I'll be making this again ... I think next time I might use Great Northern Beans instead of Kidney Beans though ... I also think that this would be good with some mushrooms in it ... seasonings were perfect as written in the recipe ...

Herb Roasted Pork

I made this for Christmas Eve dinner and it got rave reviews. I followed other users suggestions and used brown sugar and balsamic vinegar in the glaze. I doubled the rub and also added thyme and rosemary. I only used a 3 lb pork loin to feed 5 but doubled the glaze ... turned out to be way too much glaze and I have about a pint of it left over. I would double the glaze if I were using a 6 lb pork loin next time ... we will absolutely be having this again as it's a different approach than I normally take (usually a spicy rub and cook on the grill). Thanks for a wonderful pork loin recipe!

Pizza On The Grill I

If we could give this 7 stars we would! This is THE BEST way to make pizza ever ... tastes like it came from a wood fired oven ... simply amazing ... we used the basic dough recipe but added our own toppings to suit our tastes. I cut the dough in 1/2 and made 2 smaller pizzas from it ... I broiled pepperoni until it was crispy, took that out and put onions and green peppers in the broiler until cooked ... used homemade spaghetti sauce instead of pizza sauce from a jar. The second pizza was BBQ chicken ... I pounded a chicken breast flat and grilled w/ bbq sauce ... broiled red onions and chopped fresh cilantro ... The results of both were simply outstanding ... I can't wait to try more different types of pizza toppings ... I think next I'll do shrimp and pesto pizza! Seriously, stop reading the reviews and make this pizza!

West Coast Cod and Shrimp

I'm rating this a 4 because my better half wasn't crazy about it, but I thought it was excellent ... I substituted FF half & half for the heavy cream and eliminated the dill ... I'll be making this again but might use a different fish other than cod (Halibut, perhaps)

Spanish Rice II

this is the best Spanish rice I've ever made ... I've tried a lot of the Spanish and Mexican rice recipes from this site, but this one is the clear winner. I followed a few of the other reviews suggestions and made sure to brown the rice, added 3 cloves of minced garlic and also used chicken broth in place of the water. The result was outstanding! Served with a sprinkle of cheese and a dollop of sour cream, it was the prefect compliment to our Mexican dinner ... will be making this again and throwing out the old recipes ... thanks for a winner!

Maple Salmon with Mushroom Couscous

Made both the salmon and couscous for dinner tonight and my boyfriend and I just loved them both. The couscous goes really well with the sauce on the salmon. I added a bit of red pepper flakes to give it a bit of a kick to contrast with the sweet maple syrup and that combo worked well. Our favorite salmon recipe is the Baked Dijon Salmon from this site, but we're adding this to the rotation because it was so good.

Cilantro Serrano Cream Sauce

Outstanding! Used FF 1/2 & 1/2 and low fat mayo ... 4 serranos and 4 cloves of garlic ... 3/4 of a bunch of cilantro. I poured it over Tilapia and baked them. Served with rice and roasted asparagus. We just LOVED this sauce ... next time I'll add at least 1 more serrano pepper. After dinner we were looking for a snack and ate this with tortilla chips ... delicious that way also! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!!

Zucchini Herb Casserole

this was pretty good but needed a few minor modifications in order to be a 5 star recipe. First, the seasonings weren't quite enough for me and need to be doubled (otherwise it will be bland). I don't think that sharp cheddar is the way to go either. Next time I make this I'll try mozzarella for a more mild flavor. We love onions and next time I'll add a whole sweet onion to sautee with the zucchini and only cook the green onions for a minute or two before adding to the casserole dish. I also think that fresh sliced mushrooms would be good in this recipe. I will be making it again as it has potential to be out of this world! Thanks for the recipe ...

Ricotta Stuffed Zucchini

What a great way to eat zucchini! We gobbled this recipe up and I will be making it again. Slightly reduced the amount of salt and put in a bit more dried basil than it called for ... fantastic, thanks for sharing!

Hot German Potato Salad III

Broccoli Beef I

I didn't have a lot of broccoli left, so I added 1/2 of an onion, 1/2 of a green pepper and 1 portobello mushroom ... this was fantastic! We like things spicy so I put some crushed red pepper flakes in it at the end to give it some zip ... will definitely be making this again ... quick and easy, very tasty!

Flat Iron Steak with Three Pepper Rub

Just finished eating a flat iron steak with this rub on it ... FANTASTIC!! We'll be eating these as one of our summer staple items ... I have nothing bad to say about this recipe ... I *may* spice it up just a bit more with some crushed red pepper flakes because we like our food quite spicy ... but other than that, this is really worth the time and effort .. you won't be disappointed!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Wow, this was the BEST mushroom soup I've ever had. Added slightly less dill based on other reviews and used FF sour cream. It turned out incredibly rich and creamy and was super easy to make. My better half and I agree that this will be a staple in our soup rotation. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful dish! Edit to say that after discussing this soup, we came to the conclusion that it's very similar to Goulash/Stroganoff type dishes ... we think that it would be awesome with some beef in it and served over noodles.

Dutch Potatoes

Personally, I thought these were excellent but my boyfriend thought that the carrot gave them a funky taste. I took the advice of other reviewers and added 2 cloves of garlic to the onion mixture and stirred in 2 sliced green onions right before serving. I will be maing this again ... healthy, low fat alternative to mashed potatoes. No need for gravy!
