This was so good! We loved the cloves. I didn't have any marjoram, nor do I know what that is, but I am going to get some and try it in this recipe.

Taco Bake

This was wonderful. I added 1 cup frozen corn/black bean mixture, used a little salsa unstead of tomato sauce and a can of diced tomatoes. I substitued Velvetta cheese as well, just because I didn't have any Cheddar. Made my own Taco Seasoning, recipe on this site.

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Well, I was unsure how to rate this. I bake a LOT of cookies, and when I was done mixing them I thought - these are no more that a chocolate chip cookie, without the chips. I added some crushed Werthers and pecans and then divided the batch and added mini semi sweet cho chips to one, butterscotch chips to another, and topped the third with mini milk cho kisses. They all came out nice, but would have been pretty dull without. I rolled them in 1/2 brown sugar/white sugar before baking. Makes a grand bunch of cookies. I also sprayed the cookie sheets due to the Werther candies. They tend to run and stick.

This was so good! I did toast the walnuts, that really added something. About 10 minutes in a 350 oven. I also added grapes and substituted honey for sugar. VERY YUMMY.

Strawberry Delight Dessert Pie

This was good - I used cheesecake pudding. I did put it in the freezer for about an hour before serving, easier to cut and the presentation was better.

Cavatini II

I made this for the family when our daughter and her husband brought baby Ruby home. It was delicious. I mixed the sauce in with the pasta, and layered that with the cheese mixture. I also added italian sausage as other reviewers suggested. Perfect.

Carmel's Crunchy Pea Salad

I did the stupidist thing ever! I made this for Easter dinner, it was awful. Bland. Bland. Bland. Maybe with Mayo or something, nobody could eat it and I was kicking myself because I didn't try it before hand. I have never rated anything so low!

You gotta love peanut butter to like this dessert. It is wonderful. I made it just as written, it was a hit at our church potluck.

Hot Curried Fruit

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
We served this for our Health Fair this year, we are always looking for something different. We did serve the sauce from a crockpot over chilled fruit, however, and it was wonderful that way. We ran out of the fruit mixture, so ran to our facility kitchen for a gallon of pears. They were wonderful with the sauce, and an extremely easy way to go. Thanks for a great recipe and crowd pleaser.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
My grandaughter Taylee and I made these today, great comfort cookies! It was a blizzard outdoors, and taking them out of the oven was wonderful. They were very good as written, the only thing we did was add peanut butter chips because we didn't have white chips, and weren't about to go out in the blizzard.

Whole Wheat Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
These are wonderful! I did 3 cups of wheat flour and 2 of white. Also - I added more honey, about 1/8 cup. I made a mistake and baked them on baking racks with cookie sheets under them. I loved them that way! After I reread the instructions, I did the proper method of baking rack on oven rack - they were just ordinary. These freeze very nicely. Just lay them out in a container with wax paper between.

I absolutely loved this recipe! I piped it on gingerbread men, it was perfect. It does take a bit more corn syrup and milk, as other reviewers stated. It is very forgiving.

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

Good Cookies. I added only 1 tsp. of ginger, 1 1/2 is too overpowering. Also added 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, and halved the amount of butterscotch chips as another reviewer suggested.

Any-Season Fruit Bowl

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
We made this recipe for our hospital health fair, and man, is it good! The anise flavoring makes the sauce. The sauce recipe can be cut in half, it makes way too much. We also substitued bananas for the grapefruit, since so many that came through the line could not eat grapefruit (due to conteraction with the anti-cholesterol drugs). We added both green and dark grapes for color. Good recipe.

Peach Praline Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
These were very good. I made them for our health fair breakfast at work and they went over very well. I did the topping a bit different. I melted a 1/2 stick of BUTTER, and mixed the pecans and brown sugar together. After the muffins were out of the oven, I dipped the tops in the butter, and then the brown sugar/pecan mixture. YUM.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

This is an excellent recipe. I forgot the flour (I do stuff like this all the time) but it was just fine without, I used more Seasoned Texas Toast croutons and crumbed them up with the spices. A big hit with my family.

Sugarless Fruit Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
These are so good, and nutritious. Wonderful for diabetics. I have looked everywhere for this recipe, and finely! A cook at our hospital used to make these - 20 years ago. This recipe is the same. She used to make them brownie fashion, in a 9 X13 pan. They were great that way. I took one reviewers suggestion, and used part wheat flour and flax, used 1/2 unsweetened applesauce and 1/2 butter, and increased the baking powder to 1 tsp. They were perfect, and keep nicely.
