Hello everyone! I'm 18, going on 19 years old, and am very family oriented. One of my biggest passions is dance. I've been dancing for six years. I started at Starr Dance, taught classes at Illinois Dance Academy, choreographed many dance performances in high school, danced with Tanja Pazou, an amazing dancer/choreographer, at the Hinsdale Center of the Arts, and am planning on becoming a part of Xtreme Dance Force. When I'm not dancing, obviously some of my favorite hobbies are cooking and baking. I love my kitties, Chloe and Pia. They're my babies! I love my family, cooking for my boyfriend Maurice, and living my life to the fullest! :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook foods with heat and spice. The spicier, the better! Pastas are always fun for me to prepare..there are so many variations I can try, and I love adding new and different ingredients. Baking is theraputic to me..there's always my baked goodies around the house!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year, everyone in my family prepares a Halloween recipe. It's a blast with everyone in the kitchen, each preparing a different dish, snack, or dessert to try. Last Halloween, my mom made the BEST chili I've ever tasted. We love to get in the festive spirit! :) I also love every New Years Eve when my entire family meets at my grandparents house, and everyone brings a dish they love. My grandma's chocolate cake is EXCELLENT. It really brings us closer together!
My cooking triumphs
I have yet to grill fruit, especially bananas. Grilling fruit enhances the flavor, especially when adding it to desserts. I have a great dessert recipe which includes grilled bananas and peaches. My challenge will be to grill the bananas so they caramelize just perfectly on the inside. :)
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried to make cheesecake a few years ago, I didn't prepare the filling correctly. When it was baked end cooled, I tried to cut into it. The middle was mushy, and it was more like cheesecake soup. After making it over and over, I finally mastered cheesecake! :)
