I am married and have three step-kids who are all grown up. I teach English as a second language. I lived in England for five years and thought that English food had gotten a bad rap; much of it is very satisfying, stick-to-your-ribs kind of food. My husband and I try to stay really active and travel when we can.
My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts of all kinds especially at the holidays. Since moving to Arizona I have really gotten into authentic Mexican food. I also love to cook GOOD vegetarian food now and then. I mean the good stuff with plenty of substance and flavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's Italian so we always had fish on Christmas Eve. Over the years we have all settled on anchovie spaghetti. It may sound weird, especially if you don't like anchovies, but believe me, it melts in your mouth!
My cooking triumphs
The slow-cooker beef stroganoff I made for all my extended family.
My cooking tragedies
I struggle with rice. I don't know why. It seems like a mental block.
