Ever since I was a child and used to follow my grandmother around her Illinois farm kitchen, I have loved to cook. I love to cook for large groups of people and of course my immediate family. I even took classes in foods when I was younger.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are everything especially holiday meals, baking and brunches. Recently I have become interested in cooking lighter and healthier foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition would be the roasted herb turkey on Thanksgiving with cornbread pecan stuffing. And my family has always enjoyed my chicken picatta recipe which I have made for years and now my daughters family enjoys this recipe. Also a sugared walnut recipe has been a favorite in my family.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs have always been my delicious moist bundt cakes and tasty cookie varieties.
My cooking tragedies
My most embarassing cooking tragedy was when my husband and I prepared our first dinner for inlaws and we overcooked the steak on the barbeque until it could hardly be chewed.
