About this Cook
I am married with two wonderful children, a son of 11 years and a daughter of 21 months.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Although I have lived in South Africa for 25 years I still enjoy the "British" style of cooking and baking.
My cooking tragedies
I remember making hot cross buns when I was first married and they looked lovely but were so hard they could have been used in a rockery!!! My dad was so sweet, he ate nearly all of them to save my feelings. Since then my husband bought me a bread maker and we haven't had a repeat performance.

Hearty Split Pea Soup
Fantastic recipe. I have memories of my mum making pea soup in the pressure cooker and it exploded one day and we had "pea rain" coming down from the ceiling. This was definitely a lot easy and less messy!!!! Very tasty soup.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken
I made this on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious although very rich. Not too spicy but really tasty. I let my chicken cook for about an hour in the sauce so that it took on more of the flavour and became moist.... Thanks for a lovely recipe.

Onion, Garlic, Cheese Bread
This is the BEST bread I have made. I usually roll out the dough and sprinkle the cheese, onion and garlic on top and roll it up and then cut into slices and bake like cinnamon buns.....
