Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
yum.. after reading other reviews I added a cup of light mayonnaise and put all my cheese inside casserole.. my moisture was perfect.. If I had gone with only the 2 cans of soup it would have been too dry.. the next day it was a little dry due to the noodles further sucking up moisture.. I can only imagine how dry it would have been next day without additional mayo.. this is reason it was rated 4 stars.. added a little garlic salt and pepper.. it was very good.. thanks

No Bake Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
okay.. right.. so I follow the recipe with one change.. My family likes their pumpkin pies more vanilla than spicy.. so i only used 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and added vanilla.. only thing i changed.. recipe said to chill 3 hours.. after 4 1/2 hours my pie was pudding (which my husband ate and liked).. I thought OMG what did I mess up?? I didn't because it just needed till the next day to set up.. so if you follow the recipe time line and you have pudding.... stick it back in the fridge and have faith.......... I will make again.. Husband loved it.. would like to try traditional crust.. I know that takes away a little of the ease of this recipe but you can bake your storebought crust while you thicken your filling.... thanks.........

Cabbage Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
Yum.. totally fooled hubby and son. I used my food processer. Processed vegetables finely to a pulp. Browned veggies with very lean beef. Did not need to drain.. very little grease and the liquid from veggies slowly cooks out. Cut back lemon juice to 1 tablespoon and added 1 tablespoon of soy .. husband hates cabbage and cooked bell peppers ..had no clue!! In fact he has requested these in his lunchbox tomorrow! !

Pineapple, Lime, and Ginger Soup

Complex flavors. very good. I sliced one boneless skinless chicken breast really thin (stir-fry style). a little oil in pan and I stir-fried chicken and then proceeded with the recipe- used a very large jalapeno as my pepper- did not have fresh limes, so I used 2 tbls. of key lime juice-added extra cilantro (love that stuff)- will make again.. thanks

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

5 stars for being an awesome base recipe.. I started by following the recipe, honest. I did not have time to marinate.. decided to use as a stir-fry sauce.. Used half- white sugar and half- brown sugar. added cornstarch. added garlic. used minced ginger, not dry. used dry minced onion instead of dry powder. veggies, chicken, rice noodles... yum finished off with a sprinkle of sesame oil, sesame seed and green onions.. The bomb. My 12 yr old scarfed it down...

Grandma Slattery's Michigan Sauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
This was actually very good. My husband is from up-state New York but had never heard of this.. Probably it is from up-up-state New York!! I have to agree with the others that this really reminds of sloppy joe.. I had my doubts as I tasted it in the pot b-4 decorating my dog with it.. but surprisingly it was very good on it.. I added a little shredded cheese.. Husband and son liked it also.. 4-stars is coz it's definitely worth trying but not something I will be craving everytime I have a hot dog.. Thanks

Chinese Pepper Steak

This is a great base recipe. I had 1 1/2# of beef so I doubles the sauce, and I was glad I did to have plenty. I omitted tomatoes (didn't have any). Used fresh ginger.. the balance is pretty could in this recipe but at the end it needed a tweak. I added garlic.. 2 cloves... 2 tbls. of oyster sauce.. yumm.. would definitely use recipe again with these modifications.. thanks

Jimmy Dean Sausage Cheese Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Holy Cow!! The best sausage balls ever!! my family has made sausage balls every holiday season since the beginning of sausage! I can remember sitting and mixing with my hands when I was little! These are the best.. I've had them too dry, too greasy, you name it.. but if your a sausage ball lover this is the recipe.. Never had I had them or made them with onion and celery.. I used hot sausage to give plenty of flavor.. I wanted to spread the celery and onion love and used my mini-processor to finely mice them.. instead of the 2 teas. garlic I used 1 teaspoon of garlic salt and 1 teas. of reg salt.. Used low carb bake mix(carbquik) -- This make these very low-carb.. Yum.. hot or cold grab and go goodness.. For all who are first0time sausage ballers- Yes they are greasy- hey you got 2# of sausage and a # of cheese. what do you think?? drain on paper towels out of oven.. Make sure your baking sheet has sides.... Yes they are stiff to mix.. Put all your ingredients in a bowl and let come to room temp.. These are almost impossible to mix with a spoon.. so... Wash those hands and take off those rings and dig in!! Never tried it but maybe a good processor would do the job... Gonna make some more today... Like I said with the low carb mix these guys are awesome for snacks!!!

Corned Beef Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Very good! but I cant help but tweak... Sorry. Used a small food processor to make make cream cheese mix.. added a little horseradish and a couple tbls. of mayo.. I had corned beef left over from st. patricks day which I chopped and crumbled- Makes it hard for wrapping!! I used low carb tortillas and wrapped mix up.. Some were plain some I placed a sweet pickle in the middle, some had well drained sauerkraut in the middle.. placed in fridge to "harden" and cut into pin-wheels.. Tastey.. WOuld make again..
