Love it! I add instant mashed potatoes and all kinds of stuff to make it great. (Anything I can think of that I have around that looks good... noodles, etc.)

It was like a fluffy scone, and honestly, I'm not really into scones that much. However, I do appreciate their regional authenticity.

Diane's Colcannon

There was nothing really wrong with this recipe. It has a lot of fat for me, though. It was good, but I'm not going to make it one of my staple dishes. I'll probably make it again, but not regularly, and maybe only once a year.

Whisky Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
This recipe tasted very Irish. I'm not into strong bitter tastes though, and I don't like strong coffee, which is what this reminded me of. If I were an old Irish grandpa man I'd probably drink this tea, but since I'm a girl in my mid 20's, I'm not so into something that isn't really sweet at all. It doesn't really taste like tea either. It is probably meant for a cold night, or a morning that you are feeling gruff. I don't know how else to describe it other than to say it reminds me of something the grandpa in the movie, "So I Married an Axe Murderer" would drink.

Beer Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
Oh, this was soooooo good! It DID taste just like the melting pot, and after we'd finished dinner, I kept going back to the small amount of leftovers I'd saved so I could have another small bowl of this soup. I wish we had more because I could eat it all night. It's just so savory, especially with granny smith apple cubes. I used 1/2 cup of flour, 3/4 cup of buttermilk, 12 oz. bottle of Miller Lite, and 1/2 cup of parmesan and mozzarella cheese shredded mix. I omitted the celery and carrots, and just left the onions chopped. Wow, I'm really wanting some more right now. How did it go so quickly?! Everyone at the dinner table said it was awesome, and they all said it was their favorite thing that they had tonight. This soup is now one of my little secrets. :)

Special Strip Steaks

This wasn't the best tasting steak I've ever eaten, but it was good for a skillet steak. It's worth making, and seems like something similar tasting to what I would expect from the Melting Pot Restaurant since it was made with a wine sauce. It's got the best aroma! For the flavor, well, it's not necessarily lacking in something, it's not bold, but then again, it doesn't make your breath stink either, and it's probably good for a nice romantic night in when you want that romantic good cooking smell, but don't want all the messy cleanup because you just want to spend time with your love. Use any red wine that you have. It doesn't have to be sherry. I doubled the recipe because I had three steaks, and I thought that the drippings were just right for that amount of meat. Good Luck!
