Apple Fritters I

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
We made a wicked mess making these! And we made WAY too much, it took forever to deep fry in our small deep fryer. If we made them again we would so cut the recipe in half! We also peeled/cored/sliced/ and then diced our apple slices for the sake of using the machine, which also gave us that much more to deep fry. Probably wasn't the best thing to do on our part!

REALLY liked these! I sliced them into chips with my mandoline, let them sit for a few days and couldn't resist and dug into them way too soon, still delish! Can't wait to make these again next season!

Interesting... I just don't think that I'm a fan of green beans, if you are, then you would probably like this recipe, I just don't think I like them LoL which is why I can't really review this fairly

Made this for a family who just came home with a new baby. BIG BIG hit and I had to send her the recipe. I'd make this over and over again with my Pampered Chef trifle bowl, it can also be very pretty to serve

A little too soggy for our tastes... there were lots of othe recipes at the Thanksgiving day table that got eaten up way faster than this one

Scotch Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
These were pretty time consuming for something I didn't find to be all the appetizing. They weren't bad, just kind of odd, but we decided to give them a try. Not sure I'd make these again, not the recipe's fault, just a personal preference

I got lots of compliments, although I personally thought it was really dry, however, people liked it! I would make this again, maybe with a little more liquid ingredients added

We like peanut butter, we like pumpkin bread... together we still like it! Very good, was a little soft, could have cooked longer I guess

Macaroni Au Gratin

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Ehhhh, I guess we would have liked it more if it had more "real" cheese in it. Being that the processed cheese was all the cheese it called for, it tasted just like that, processes cheese. I guess we just must like the real deal taste better, probably just a personal preference...

Sweet and Savory Ribs

BIG BIG BIG hit in our family! I made these for some cousins and dropped them off in a crockpot at their home one night, they raved about them the next day. I also made them for the superbowl and my husband's family raved about them. This is a rib recipe I'll definitely keep!

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Very good. We had to modify it a bit on cooking time because our ham was raw. I cooked a 8lb raw ham for 2 hours at 325 and then put the glaze on for the next 2 hours and basted it frequently. I probably should have waited until the last hour of cooking as the glaze got really thick and sticky by the end of it, however the flavor and taste was still awesome! We just couldn't use any of the "juice" on the bottom of the roaster because it had baked semi-solid on us. I will try this again with a spiral cut ham!

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
It was a big hit for us. Just the right amount of Pumpkin Flavor and I did use a candy thermometer and made sure it hit the 230 degree mark before taking it off the stove. It get's 4 stars only because I added a little extra pumpkin pie spice for flavor and because it was kind of tricky to make, I burnt my hand pretty bad trying to stir in the marshmellow while it was boiling, but even so, it's great! I've had two people try it so far and each of taken some home after saying it was really good!

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I doubled this recipe twice to make for family Christmas baskets and placed the mixture in a 1 quart jar. I took a plastic bag filled wih mini-marshmellows and placed it ontop of the drink mix in the jars. Looks really nice, although I haven't actually tried the recipe myself yet. I hope it tastes as good as it looks!

Friendship Soup Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Haven't actually tried this myself but I made up a bunch of jars to go in my Christmas baskets. It looked really nice layered. SO PRETTY IN 1 QUART JARS! The only thing I did different was instead of adding boulion granules, I actually placed 5 cubes of boulion squares in a plastic bag just below the plastic bag of pasta. I couldn't find the granules so this is all that I could make work. I sure hope it tastes good and not justs look pretty!!! Once I try it myself I will update.

Cinnamon Pancakes in a Jar

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Haven't actually tried these myself but I made up a bunch of jars to go in my Christmas baskets. As stated before me, if you plan on using this recipe at different sittings, you really can't layer it in the jar. So I mixed it all up together and added chocolte chips to the mix, and now my family will each of their own Chocolate Chip Pancake mix for Christmas! I sure hope it tastes good and not justs look pretty!!!

Yum yum YUM, I'm making these again for thanksgiving! My aunt found me onion juice in a bottle which I thought was neat as I squeezed the onion by hand the first time I made these. The onion juice will make it a cinch!

Garlic Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
YUMMY! It was hard to let them sit for a week but we did. I'll try adding some extra spices (maybe some chopped garlic and dill like someone else suggested) to it the next time I make it just to see if it enhances the flavor but it was very good as written and I will be making again! ps. they did look just like the picture shown if you use a red onion, very pretty!
