Good, quick recipe. I used beef broth instead of water/bouillon, and added an extra cup and cooked the macaroni right in the soup. Good after 20 minutes; will probably taste even better after the flavors have had more time to meld.

I have been making Baker's One Bowl Brownies (the recipe is on the back of the unsweetened chocolate squares box) for several years. They are THE BEST! Be sure to check the brownies before 30 minutes - I usually start with 24 minutes and don't bake much past it. As soon as a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with fudgy crumbs instead of batter they are done. Cutting these into shapes is a great idea for Christmas treat plates!

This was delicious! I omitted bacon and added sliced kielbasa along with the potatoes. Didn't add the herbs as I didn't have them. Used canned broth which worked fine. The flour/butter mixture became VERY thick very quickly after adding the cream, enough that I was a bit worried, but it turned out fine when added to the broth/potatoes. Rather than blending some of the soup I just mashed it a few times with a pastry cutter. Wonderful flavor and texture. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
