Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
Felix (whoever he is) you are awesome! My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe to make. They reminf me of Keebler soft-batch cookies--but better. I do use egg-replacer instead of real egg and 100% dairy-free margerine instead of butter due to my children's egg and dairy allergies. They still come out yum!!

Turkey Frame Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
This was soooooooo good! Even my picky husband loved this vegetable soup. I followed the recipe exactley (no noodles needed), except I only let the broth refrigerate a couple of hours, instead of over night. I can't wait for next Thanksgiving, so I can make it with my leftover turkey again.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
These were very good, and, yes, as others mentioned, very addicting! My husband says they taste like Taco Bell (don't know if that's a good thing or not), but the subtle sweetness added by the sweet potatoes is great. I didn't have kidney beans, so I made 1/2 with black beans and 1/2 with pinto beans--you can't go wrong!

Pie Crust IV

Another glowing review for this crust. I too, have attempted pie crust many times, but never got it right. This one came out just right! Light and flakey. I chilled the shortening before making, and that supposedly helps too.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
These make good cookies. I altered the recipe a bit to make them more healthy. I used half whole wheat flour, half unsweetned applesauce in place of the oil, and ground flaxseed in water in place of the egg. I only used 1 cup of chocolate chips, and that was plenty!

Whole Wheat Refrigerator Rolls

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
These are so good! I wanted these to be healthier, so I should note that I used all 100% whole wheat flour--no white flour--and they still rose and tasted wonderfully. I will definetley be making these again, and again, and again!

Butter Chickpea Curry

This was good, but not great. Maybe I'll try making it with coconut milk next time. I loved the chick peas, but yet this recipe seemed to be missing something.

Tasty White Bread

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
This bread rose beautifully and has a great texture--crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. My husband and daughter both loved this bread and agree it deserves five stars. We made one loaf into cinnamon swirl bread--So good! Mix 1/4 cup + 2 TB. sugar with 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Roll out one loaf of bread before 2nd rising with a rolling pin. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture and roll up. Pinch the dough at the end of the loaves so the cinnamon and sugar doesn't leak out while baking and lt rise as usual. It makes such good cinnamon swirl bread!!

Excellent brownies. I like my brownies to be more fudgy, not too cakey, and these are perfect!

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
So good! I used peeled and sliced fresh peaches sprinkled with a little white and brown sugar. I used another reviewer's idea and shredded a chilled stick of butter over the cake mix--this worked great at evenly distributing the butter. Served warm with vanilla ice cream--to die for!

This is a very good recipe! I love homemade baked beans (I'm not a fan of the canned ones) and will keep this recipe on file for our next bbq!

Hawaiian Chicken I

I'm sorry, but this recipe was just awful! I really don't understand why so many people loved it. The combination of so much soy, teriayaki, and worchester sauce made the sauce WAY TOO SALTY!

Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
Wow! These were so good! However, we have nut allergies in my family, so instead of topping the rolls with sugar and pecans, I made a traditional cream cheese frosting that I put over them after baking. But the cinnamon roll recipe itself is so good! This is my new signature cinnamon role --very cakey anf soft--just the way I like it!

Chicken Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
This pizza was so good! My brother loved it, and ate slice after slice. The only change I made was related to the cheese. I've never used fontina cheese, and all I had at home was an Italian blend of mozzerela and romano. I used way more than an 1/2 cup, and it was very good. I always figure, the more cheese, the better!

Quick Crescent Taco Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
This recipe was veery good! I give it four stars because I did some important changes! I ommitted the water and added one regular sized can (undrained) of pinto beans. I only used half the amount of chips: I used frittos, which I think work best! I served it topped with lettuce. This is now one of my favorite recipes, but I really recommend adding pinto beans to the beef mixture, it makes it so much healthier!

Crumb Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
I made this for Thanksgiving, and I will second what others have said on it. It should be baked at 400. Even then, the crust and topping does seem to get very dark, but not enough to ruin the flovor and taste of the pie. This pie is very good. I t is rich and sweet. I used 6 apples. The pie was very full initially, but don't worry, it settles down as it cooks. One of my favorite apple pies!
