Basil-Lime Sorbet

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
I was sceptical with the combination, but this was fantastic. I serve it after a spicy meal, and it is the perfect ender to a meal and cleanses the palate beautifully. I also experimented with rum for a beautiful mojito! This recipe is so good and so easy, and keeps in the freezer for a long time. Thank you for this creative idea!

BLT Wedge with Roquefort

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This was amazingly delicious! While not a fan of iceberg lettuce, this salad needs iceberg to pull it off. The combination of the bleu cheese dressing, warm bacon and cold tomatoes was a perfect addition to the meal. This one is a keeper in my recipe file.

Carrot Coconut Lime Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
The ease of preparation for this soup made it better yet! The blend of flavors that tingled the tastebuds was a delight. The taste was very exotic. I would add another teaspoon of cumin for more zip. But overall, a very good and different twist to a soup.

Fusion Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
Nice change to hummus-a fusion twist! I added crumbled feta cheese to this as well, which made a fabulous add in. Thanks for the new idea for an already awesome dish. It's fun to try new things, and this is definitely a keeper.

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
Wow! For all of the eggplant haters in my family that ate this last night and had seconds--kudos to you Yakuta! I simmered this delicious combination for 2 hours and the flavor was fabulous. I added a bit more broth and an additional teaspoon of cumin powder for a punch more of flavor. Great recipe, one that will be added to my recipe file.

Kofta

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
My dear, I have never been to the Middle East, but your kofta recipe certainly transported me there! A delicious blend of spices and flavors and a simple method of cooking. I did add some paprika and fresh cilantro, and the flavors were exotic. I served it with homemade hummus, pocket bread and the Eggplant Curry, and couscous from the website, and WOW! A very picky eater with our dinner guests had thirds! And lots of compliments. Thanks for a superb addition to my recipe collection.

Almondy Warmth Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
I was very suprised at the nice texture of these cookies. I normally am not a fan of "cake like" cookies, but these were incredibly tender and flavorful. Very easy to prepare, and the batter stayed in place while baking. I added flaked almonds which added crunch, and added nicely to the flavor. Kudos to you in your late night cravings and the successful recipe!

Onion Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
I make croissants the authentic way--make the dough, roll out the butter slab, fold, chill, roll again. This recipe was very simple and effective. The crescent rolls were tender and flaky and stayed soft even two days later. What a nice addition of onion. Made the flavor stand out. Kudos on an easy version of a very nice dinner roll.

Cuban Water Bread

This is the recipe I have been looking for! The crust was awesome, the inside chewy--it was spectacular. Even the next day it was a fantastic flavor and texture. This will become a staple in my recipe files. Thank you for a superb recipe.

Red Wine Baste

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
This sounded much too simple to be tasty, but the results were incredible! I roasted two chickens on the grill til almost done, then basted the chickens for the last 10 minutes of grilling. The skin was crispy and the basting sauce was so good. Thanks Ron for a very easy sauce that is delicious. There were no leftovers! I added 1 Tablespoon of sugar to give the glaze "sticking power", and may add fresh garlic the next time I try it. Very good and easy, and very big flavor impact!

Divine Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
This is an incredibly easy recipe to whip up, and the "wows" and "oohs" from family and friends that tried it makes it the most decadent ice cream I have made. I live in Fiji and maraschino cherries are not available. I soaked dried cherries in rum to hydrate, then followed the recipe. I used dark, bittersweet chocolate and chopped it semi fine and added it when the mix cooled. To die for taste and the presentation is beautiful. Thanks for a gourmet treat that can be prepared the day before, for an outstanding dessert treat!

Lasagne Verdi al Forno

Wow! A work of art that is definitely worth the effort in the kitchen! I made this and had an Italian to dinner. She said it was the best she's ever had, and all eating it agreed. So tasty, and the pasta melted in your mouth. Exquisite recipe which will be a staple in my collection. Thank you.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
I am not a great baker, but theses cookies were fabulous. I chilled the dough about 30 minutes before baking, and they were awesome. Even my picky 10 year old loves them. Try white chocolate chunks mixed in the dough. It is a gooey mess to eat, but oh so wonderful!
