Beef Yakitori
Easy, and delicious. My wife and I loved it, and so did our 12-year-old son. Our younger daughters are still at the age when "not McD" is automatically bad - but even they ate more than any other new food they tried.
I used wood skewers, and a small frame to keep the meat off the grill. I think that made some difference.
