I'm the proud mom of a houseful of kids (some my own, some everyone else's). I moved from NEPA to Indy a yr ago.
My favorite things to cook
I am a stronger baker than a 'cook'. People call and beg me for 'my' cookies and cakes. I used to take 'orders'...but it got to be too much for me! I love to cook italian and mid eastern foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a pro baker when we were young, so I learned the benefits of baking from scratch. Our ethnic background is Irish/German so many different foods were a big part of our childhood dinner table. I learned alot about mid east culture/foods when I went out on my own. That quickly became a welcome addition to our cooking traditions and holidays.
My cooking triumphs
If I had to pick one thing that I (and most) say I do best (in the kitchen)...I guess it would be 'my'cookies. "They' have been part of many weddings, dinner parties, family gatherings, etc...
My cooking tragedies
I could say here that I don't have any 'cooking tragedies'...but that I've learned something from each...but...we all know better...lol. The biggest problem I have when cooking/baking is...when I am baking in an oven other than my own...differences in ovens makes a huge difference...and over the years, one or two things have burned...shhhhh...
