It came out really good..the only thing I would have added to the recipe as its written would be a large can of tomato sauce...I added some wine but otherwise..it came out great!

I just made these with my very finiky kids (aged 3 and 4) and WE LOVE THEM...not too sweet...we increased the amount of apple to 1/1/2 c.,made them with 1/2 granny smith and 1/2 red delicious, added a little brown sugar like some of the other suggestions and it wasn't too sweet also added some dried cherries...we even made the oatmeal topping as suggested by another reviewer...FABULOUS!!!...The only thing we didn't do was add the caramel drizzle..I just wonder..if anyone else has made the topping, what do you do with the extra topping, how do you store it?
