My favorite guinea pig...
About this Cook
I am a Chinese-American, raised in Texas, living in Moscow, with my Russian husband! Everyone, all together now... "We are the world..." :)
My favorite things to cook
Chinese food, Pastas, Tex-Mex
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my parents are excellent cooks, and as is the case with any Asian American family, our family life revolves around FOOD!I fondly recall helping my mother prepare our special Lunar New Year delicacies, watching my dad prepare the best noodle soup ever, and of course going out to dim sum every weekend.
My cooking triumphs
The best Thai noodle pasta, Soy Sauce Chicken, and a mean Death by Chocolate...
My cooking tragedies
Fresh on my mind: the most revolting Banana Creme Pie in the world. Gag and trash!

Balsamic Chicken
great- i was surprised- i thought it would be more tart- but the sugar melded out the flavors quite nicely- i did add more garlic and a touch more sugar.

Honey-Orange Marinated Salmon
great easy weeknight recipe- i marinated for 1.5 hours- more than enough- added 2 cloves of minced garlic and increased the OJ by a dash and decresed the soy sauce by a smidge... reduced the marinating sauce for 7 min on boil with 1 tsp of cornstarch- strained and served on the side. instead of grilling, i usually pan fry my salmon for 3 min on each side.
