Okra, Corn and Tomatoes

This is a great side dish. I made a few adjustments of my own including substituting italian sausage for bacon, fresh okra, canned corn, minced garlic, olive oil, white wine, dash of cayenne and chili powder in addition to the pepper all ready listed in the recipe. The results were magnificent. :)

Anne's Fabulous Grilled Salmon

My boyfriend made this recipe last night and it was great. We did not have any ginger root on hand, so we used ginger powder. He grilled the salmon and a side of asparagus. We also had couscous as a side. Delicious!

Filipino Lumpia

My boyfriend is Filipino and decided to try his hand at lumpia. He followed this recipe for the most part...he used shrimp and pulled chicken to the vegetable mix and we got lumpia wrappers from the grocery store. The lumpia was awesome and I all ready have requests from friends for him to make more. Thanks!

Shrimp Burritos

California Chicken

This recipe is great and very easy! We made a marinade with lime juice, cilantro, pepper, and olive oil as suggested by other users. We baked the chicken with pepperjack cheese on top of the sliced tomato. We topped the dish with avacado and green onions. Yum!!

Spicy Chicken Enchiladas

This recipe is great. I was unable to find any chipotle peppers so I augumented chipotle sauce with jelapenos (finely diced). My boyfriend and I loved it. We would definitely make this again.

Salmon and Garbanzo Bean Soup

This recipe surprised me in its greatness. My boyfirned and I cooked this up and we did add more garlic to what was suggested if any because we eat garlic in just about everything. We also added some italian spices. We would make this again.

Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze

I just made this dish last night for my boyfriend and it was great. I added minced garlic to the mix since we are major garlic lovers! Great dish which we served with our yammy mashed potatoe recipe and mushroom couscous. Yum!

Rosemary-Scented Pork Loin Stuffed With Roasted Garlic, Dried Apricots and Cranberries and Port Wine Pan Sauce

Great recipe. I followed the recipe as instructed except that I also mixed the port wine in with the stuffing. I served it with carrots and potatoes that I baked with the tenderloin after about an hour of it baking by itself. Excellent dish!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Very good recipe. My boyfriend made this last week and they were great. We did not have a head of lettuce on-hand so he used green cabbage instead, which was a little more difficult to work with, but still tasty! :)

2-Step Garlic Pork Chops

Excellent dish! My boyfriend made this for me last night and it was great. He followed the recipe as stated, but did use another members suggestion to put the pork chops over mashed potatoes. We like to make smashed potatoes (skin on the potatoes), so we put the pork chops over smashed potatoes. Very simple and delicious recipe...thanks!

Marinated Shrimp in Avocado Halves

I made this recipe just as directed with only two substitutions: I used lime juice since I did not have any fresh limes on hand and I cooked the shrimp in olive oil, garlic, and finely chopped onions. The taste was great and the recipe was so easy. I recommend this to anyone who loves shrimp and avacados with a spicy zing! :-)

Cajun Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Followed the recipe as it was stated. I used large portobella mushroom tops. The dish was great. My boyfriend absolutely loved it! I'm not a big stuffed mushroom eater...at least when it come to big mushrooms, but I did enjoy the dish. The stuffing was so good!

Perfect Lobster Bisque

This recipe is great, but I did make a few modifications. First I chopped all the veggies together in a food processor. I then sauted them for a few minutes while I was chopping up the lobster. I did place some of the lobster in the food processor to get a noce texture for the bisque. I left the remaining lobster in slightly bigger chunks to make the bisque a little hardier. All in all the recipe came out great and I would definitely make it again.

Chile Garlic BBQ Salmon

I followed the recipe as stated and grilled the salmon on a gas grill. The salmon came out great. The flavor was very good. My boyfriend said he would have liked it a little spicier so next time I will add some chile flakes to the ingredients and see how it turns out.
