About this Cook
I am hapily married and have 2 handsome and ornery little boys. I work from home as an AVON Representative.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, My husband says that's the polish in me! I also make a lot of pasta dishes and have recently begun to enjoy using my crockpot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever since I can remember at Christmas time my grandmother would make sweet breads, cinnamon rolls, nut rolls, lady locks and many other wonderful baked goods. I am trying my best to share these yummy treats with my boys.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm, making crepes for the first time. I thought they would be hard and never dreamed the boys would love them but they do. I make them almost every week now.
My cooking tragedies
Burning bratwursts on the grill. My m-i-l was over and I was trying to get everything done. I forgot the brats were on the grill while I was inside finishing other items. When I went out to get them they were literally burnt to a crisp with no hopes of surviving. Luckily, I had a package of hotdogs in the freezer...of course, my husband had to cook them!

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup
This is really yummy...it is runnier than store bought syrup and does seperate some but, overall those 2 things don't break the recipe. I will be making this again and again!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Fantastic! My 5 year old son and I made this tonight. when my husband and other son got home from scouts we dug right in....yummmmmmy...warm with a scoop of vanilla icecream. I opted to make a double batch and baked in a 9X13 without a bottom crust.

Frosted Banana Bars
I made this in a 9X13 cake pan, The only alterations I made was that I made my own maple frosting for them since I didn't have cream cheese. OMGoodness so delish! This has replaced my mom's recipe!
