Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
I brought this to a work pot-luck and it was gone in the first 10 minutes! I use a few packets of splenda instead of sugar and 2 frozen bags of corn.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
this is our favorite pasta salad! I use a bottle of the newmans own balsamic (light) dressing instead of the oil/vinegar mixture. Make one day ahead of time so that the flavor has time to "blend" in the fridge for 24 hours.

Chocolate Pecan Pie III

Thanksgiving staple! make sure you add small bits of the hot chocolate mixture to the egg mixture to "shock" eggs so that they dont scramble!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
This was so easy to make, and delicious. It reminds me of the curry we used to have in Malaysia. I added a bag of frozen mixed vegetables before it simmered, and it was very good. Had to simmer for about 40 minutes uncovered, and added mixture of 1 tbsp cornstarch with about 1 tbsp of water to thicken at the end.

Apple Carrot Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Excellent HEALTHY muffins! I used chopped pecans instead of walnuts, and a a whole cup of chopped apples. I did 1/2 and 1/2 brown and white sugar, and 1/2 and 1/2 wheat and white flour. Absolutely delicious for a midmorning healthy snack.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This was good, but not fantastic. I agree with a past reviewer that the flour gave it a slimy consistancy. Maybe I used too much flour because I do not ever remember this being the case with past meats that I've dredged in flour. Very good for dinner, but did not eat the leftovers.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
We had my dad over for dinner, and he LOVES pot roast so this went over very well. I served it with roasted red potatoes, cooked carrots, rolls, and green beans. I personally thought it was a little salty, but the boys did not complain. I also took previous reviewers advice and seared the meat with flour, salt, and pepper in a little olive oil before putting in the slow cooker. Next time I would not put salt on the outside. Will try again soon!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I made these with my 2 year old niece for Christmas. Not only were they easy to make, but they were absolutely delicious! We decorated some with sprinkles before baking, and others with frosting when they came out of the oven. We also used past reviewers suggestions to sprinkle powdered sugar on the rolling surface versus flour, and it worked very well. These were gone in just a few short days - thanks!! P.S. I am now making them for Valentines Day too :)

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
Tastes JUST LIKE a california roll! This makes a HUGE batch. We ate it for a few days, and then I was pretty sick of eating california rolls! Overall - great alternative to making actual sushi. I added edamame beans, nori sheets, and extra wasabi. yum.

Classy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This was pretty good. I liked the interesting combination of flavors, but my husband was confusing the zucchini for pickles (since I included dill in the recipe). Maybe the flavor combination was just a little too "out of the ordinary" for him.

Crab Crusted Grouper

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
WOW! This was amazing! Just like one of my favorite seafood restaurants. My husband's first comment was "tastes just like a restaurant!". I added 1/2 of the jalapeno (instead of 1/4) and green pepper instead of yellow and red, but itw as still fabulous. I used orange roughy filets instead of grouper, but it worked perfectly. Thanks!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
My husband decided to make me dinner the other night (a first!) and found this recipe. He marinated the chicken in the sauce for ~6 hours, and then reserved extra sauce (before marinating) for dipping. It was great grilled chicken. The honey made it slightly charred, but great with dipping sauce!

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I made this just as written (maybe a little more curry powder because I love the extra spice!) and it was fantastic. I had my mother over for lunch and we put it on salads. I had it the following day on a wheat wrap, and it was great both ways!

Balsamic Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
Excellent, and easy to make! I spread the "fresh basil in a tube" (because they were out of fresh at the store) on one side of the mozz and put it on top of the sliced tomato on each chicken breast. I put the pan in the oven for a few minutes before serving to make sure that the cheese was nice and melted. My husband LOVED it!!

Cold Oven Popovers

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I do not know if I didnt make these correctly, but the batter was extremely thin with large lumps and the popovers came out tasting like baked eggs. Sorry - but I was not a fan.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I had never tried spaghetti squash, but i LOVED it! This recipe gave the squash a lot of flavor. I used extra fresh garlic, and extra fresh basil. I also added extra olives since we love them so much. Thanks again!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
This chili was awesome! I made it with 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb ground beef. Browned meat with the onion (1 small) and 2 cloves garlic (instead of garlic salt). Threw the rest of the ingredients with drained meat in the crock pot, and had it at our football party. Everyone LOVED it! They were all asking for the recipe! Thanks!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I had several roma tomatoes that were getting soft in the fridge, so this was the perfect recipe to use them up. It was sooo tasty, and I liked that the recipe does not have heavy cream. I added basil and black pepper to the tomato mixture instead of cloves.
